We didn’t deserve him. He’s proven himself capable of going longer than 4.2 innings and getting out of his own jams elsewhere because Boone never trusted him to do it here…

So Aaron, how do you feel about perhaps a managerial change? We know you have a contract, but you could just go home and get paid while someone more competent runs the ball club…

So Aaron, how do you feel about perhaps a managerial change? We know you have a contract, but you could just go home and get paid while someone more competent runs the ball club… I think Boone is doing exactly what the people who sign his checks want him to do. Boone knows and the front office knows and the players know that these canned statements are useless, but he has to say something so it's the same droning nonsense every day. The fans all ridicule it, but we keep filling the Stadium and buying the merchandise and watching the broadcasts, and since return on investment is the one thing Hal truly cares about he has absolutely no incentive to make any serious changes. The Boss passionately cared about winning, it was a part of his massive ego, and couldn't have cared less about the luxury tax the way this outfit does. Even though they could easily afford to blow past it instead of trying to chisel the freaking Washington Nationals to obtain a nonentity like Jeimar Candelario. There was a time when we went for players like David Cone or Dave Justice or Bobby Abreu at the trade deadline. Now we're rummaging around in the bargain bin.

See something is not right here how did we get "rumors" of they were "in" on weeks for him now it's they never even tried?????
Are Yankees sources lying to all experts except Passan???

Axisa has rubbed me the wrong way for a while over at RAB since he shut the site down. Anyway, as I mentioned the other day, this line of thinking shouldn't be the way to go. You should try and kick-start this team, make a tweak or two, and not just throw your hands up in air while losing yet another year of Cole, Judge, Stanton in their primes. Go be the front office you think you are and make moves you punted on this past off-season. If you get in the dance... Other than Aaron Judge, what Yankee prospect position player has made a significant positive impact (game changer talent) in recent years? Sanchez, Bird, Frazier, Andujar...the list goes on and on. All washouts. Look at the current team: Higgy - draft, Rizzo - trade/FA, Gleyber - trade/farm, Volpe - farm, DJLM - FA, IKF - trade, Bader - trade, Stanton - trade, Trevino - trade, Bauers - FA, McKinney - trade/FA. Not much there outside of Judge (Gleyber was pretty much fully formed by the time he was traded to the Yankees). In fact, arguably the best true farm player outside of Judge in terms of performance lately has been Thairo Estrada, who unfortunately is delighting Giants' fans. And, he was essentially let go by the Yankees for cash. We used to have nothing but farm guys up the middle: Posada, Soriano, Jeter, Bernie, Cano anchoring the team, with some genius trades of players who knew their roles. This Yankee braintrust is not very good at evaluating, drafting, or developing positional talent. This is on reason why I advocated last season and the season prior to trade "The Martian," while his hype was still "otherworldly talent." I still believe he's a Melky Cabrera with more power and patience, but not as developed on bat to ball skills (i.e.,putting the ball in play) at the same age. We should have secured Bryce Harper when we had the chance, and we should have tried to get Soto when the Nats were shopping him. Guys like that do not come around very often. At this point, other than Volpe, who would this team really miss if we would have cleared our four best prospects for a likely future Hall of Famer in Juan Soto? Cabrera? Peraza? Dominguez? Peirera? We haven't had anyone who knows how to evaluate talent to "Form A Box" if we wanted to do so. Think of all the first round flops the last twenty years. Established talent is expensive, but when you see guys like Harper and Soto, you have to bet on the Hall of Fame talent and sacrifice the what may never be, which is more likely the case with the Yankees. Maybe the best summary of the Yankee's situation I have ever read. How can you draft 15-20 players per year and not hit on one every now and then? We've got a lot of re-building to do.

Randy, Lonn and Cashman all in place running things for two decades. It's run like a mom and pop shop but also worth eight billion dollars.

As much as everyone dislike's Cashman, I really believe he has his hands tied to what he can and cannot do. He does what he can within his limitations and lately those limitations have had negative effects. We don't know what is really going in the Front Office we can only speculate. Since he has such limitations he shouldn't make any moves, but I believe he's hoping to get lucky if he makes a move, and so far all the moves have been terrible. I believe they gave Cashman the contract to be a puppet, because they don't want a real GM who will really want to do there job and make waves.

anything that improves our dead offense would be an improvement. But it likely won't happen.
Firing cashman and stanton would be nice, but I doubt we could clear his awful contract.

And only spend money on pitchers not hitters? It could be. Resigning Judge was really stupid given his age, cost, and injury history. Save the fortunes invested on younger hitters. Stanton was totally self inflicted. Maybe our dumbest acquistion ever.
