I could be wrong but after his recent comments my guess is that Crochet's trade value has dropped. Do yout think the bargaining history of Snell and Jordan are having an impact on this thinking ? I don't know. But in my opinion, because of the number of innings he has pitched so far this season he's right to ask for a contract extension and wants to remain a starting pitcher. If he gets traded to a contender there's a chance that he might have to pitch well into the post season. That's a lot to ask from a pitcher that's coming off an injury.

Not sure why the Yankees don't promote Neely just to see if they can fix some of their Bullpen flaws in house. Max, I posted an article in the minor league thread. The writer answering questions commented the Yanks really like Neely and he thinks he may be called up. I know he isn't on the 40 man yet so perhaps they are waiting to see how mahy empty chairs they have after the TDL? Thanks again for the info 55. I don't know what the Yankees are waiting for since they have a handful of players that can release off their 40 man roster, most of them relief pitchers.

This seems like a silly proposal. Not sure I would even trade Gil straight up. I wouldn't make that trade either. Yep, not even straight up. The objective should be to have him and Gil in the Yankees starting rotation at the same time.

They Orioles just made a puzzling trade. Austin Hays to the Phil’s for a middling reliever and another guy with a .202 BA. Hays is very good defensively and mashed RHP. It seems odd to me… Orioles, Phillies Swap Austin Hays For Seranthony Dominguez
Activity is picking up. Will we do somthing soon?

This seems like a silly proposal. Not sure I would even trade Gil straight up. Seriously, the Yankees would want to add Crochet to go with Gill and Cole in the rotation. I'd would send them a package centered on Jones and Warren. I wonder what Crochet innings limit is? He only pitched 12.2 innings in 2023 and he didn't pitch at all in 2022. In my opinion, that's a red flag.

Thanks for the follow up, Kaybli. Other than having some excess OF talent on board it seems Hays, a fan favorite, was let go cheap to me…

Agree, but we sometimes seem to cling to mediocre players as if there is actually a demand for them as if it would be tragic if we lost J. D davis.

Hoerner is an interesting player and potential leadoff guy. I don't see a fit for Tauchman. Just my 2 cents...If the Yankees are looking to trade for an infielder and if he's available, Nico is the player to trade for.

This should have been the year that Spencer Jones broke out in MiLB if he was ever going to anoint too much. As it is now, he’s becoming the next Florial. If someone is foolish enough to believe in him we should move him if we can obtain pitching that can be meaningful this year…

I would take Crochet in a heartbeat ... worst case you convert him to closer for the remainder of the season to limit his innings ... best case he becomes the best starter on the Yankees
