Orioles, Phillies Swap Austin Hays For Seranthony Dominguez
Thanks for the follow up, Kaybli. Other than having some excess OF talent on board it seems Hays, a fan favorite, was let go cheap to me… YUP this is the one I mentioned in the other post.

I think Nico would be a good leadoff hitter. He has an above average OBP.

I still don't care if they make a move or not. Win with what they got or blow it up.

I wonder what Crochet innings limit is? He only pitched 12.2 innings in 2023 and he didn't pitch at all in 2022. In my opinion, that's a red flag. I would take Crochet in a heartbeat ... worst case you convert him to closer for the remainder of the season to limit his innings ... best case he becomes the best starter on the Yankees It depends what players the WSox want. He's a good pitcher, but he wants to remain a starter and wants a contract extension if he's traded.

My guess is that if the Yankees traded for Nico, Torres would be traded soon after. He might even be included in the trade for Nico.

He's a good pitcher, but he wants to remain a starter and wants to renew his contract if he's traded. He's better then Good, and he's under control for 2 more seasons so he doesnt have a say in a contract extension Also he would remain a starter as long as inn limits isnt an issue ... he's probably be great as a closer considering he leads the league in K's, FIP, SO/9 and has a great WHIP and SO/W I'd give Jones, Arias and Warren to get him And I'd still go after Skubal ... I'd Consider Dominguez, Hampton to start Yankees are desprately in win now mode and this would give them the best pitching staff in baseball for the next 3 years

You're right, he doesn't have a say when it come to his contact but it sounds like it might be a deal breaker when it comes to trading for him.
I like the thought of a Yankees starting rotation of Cole, Skubal, and Crochet. But I'm not sure Skubal is going to get traded unless the Tigers get an overwhelming offer. I think the Yankees are going to shy away from Crochet for the reasons already mentioned. If you get a chance read what Crochet said about being traded.

I can't explain it, but for some reason I have a feeling that Cortes is going to get traded.
Is it just me? Or does anyone else think Cortes is going to get traded?

If they trade any starter, it will be Nestor, not Gil. I've had that feeling too, but after tonight, perhaps no one will want him. I hope he does well, but he's looked bad on the road.

I think he'll have to throw a good game against the Sox tonight on the road to get any team to trade for him, Max. His road numbers this are stark/terrible.

Did teams not make mid-season trades in the 1970s? Those '77 and '78 Yankee squads were basically the same teams in the post-season as they were in spring training.
