Good for the rain delay = Gives us time to go over OUR 6-Year Plan for the Yankees = Very important, since it has been made quite CLEAR that WE (the Yanks) have no plan.
As fans we need to stop being such emotional fans and to start being Smart Fans (Reality, Logical, Common Sense, Facts, Truth. Honesty, and yes with some emotion too, etc.)
The goals of the six-year plan are many, but all are realistic, logical, achievable yet stretched goals, etc.
The main goals (not all, for there are many) is for every 6-year period the Yanks make 2 years of mini rebuilds and 4 years of making the play-offs (during which rime we make our 2 WS appearances). We might even do better than projected above.
It has become really CLEAR that first both Cash, Boone and our Batting Coaches, Trainers, Fielding Coaches need to go along with ALL of Cash's team, etc.
The plan can begin to be put in place beginning tomorrow = Next 2.5 years rebuilding using a majority of our high value prospects and weeding out ones that will not make it in MLB based on ample playing time.
No more huge $$$ long term contracts with no-trade clauses for aging players. However if we have a Great Prospect 25 years old (with his Free Agency 3-years away, we will sign him up for 4- 5 years max. (Reasonable $$$ Amount).
By the time our Roster Players hit 31,32 etc. we will 90% of the time, trade them and get a return before they hit F/A (there will be exceptions for Players like Jeter, Mo, etc. etc. etc.).
We know NOW, from the last 12-years or so older players (the majority of them) have drops in production (both offensive and defensively, plus are more prone to many Injuries; harder to change bad habits; attitudes & energy levels not like young prospects; less open to adapting to change, etc. etc. etc.).
Our farm System will be producing Prospects that we need to move up to the ML Levels quicker than we do now = so on the back-end we need to be trading our soon to be retreads (31 years plus) to make room for the up & coming future Stars (hopefully).
Our yearly payroll will hover between $125M to $150m or so...
AND NO we will not lose fan #'s = We haven't for the last 13-years of not going to the WS and probably make that 14-years. Plus a real professional marketing plan will only increase our revenue from fan base.
If it was me, beginning tomorrow I would find new homes for the following Roster Players to be replaced by some of our High Value Prospects and new Prospects we get in the trades:
DJ, Bader, Torres, Higgy, Abreu (Get something decent in return NOW, while they still have value.)
Bauer
Donaldson
Calhoun
Sev
Stanton (pay him to waive his no trade clause)
Franchy
Yes the rest of 2023 would be half a year of rebuilding (as part of the 2-years mentioned above).
Yes, this is drastic but so needed. And there so much more to this plan...to de discussed at a later date if I make it.
