I do like a lot of what I saw this weekend and all week really, but CHI is right even though the team looked competitive it's still 4-6 against the Orioles, Rays, and Astros and no series wins.
However...
they were 3.5 back before the Baltimore series and are 4.5 back now.
Volpe sometimes looks great and other times he looks like an automatic out.
Judge/Stanton 0 for 10 2 walks
Really need more offense from the catching position
Bullpen outside of the Questionable Wandy inning again gave up 0 runs. They gave up 9 ER in this 10 game stretch, but only 5 outside of the Wandy inning. Wandy himself gave up 5 of the 9 (1, 0, 0, 0, 1, 0, 1, 2, 0, 4). So starting pitching needs to be better bullpen outside of Wandy did it's job and if Boone didn't put him out in the 6th inning he could probably be on the 1 run over 10 games list too.

Of course the Red Sox can't win for their lives at home all weekend when the Yankees need to them to...
Jays have a rough next couple of weeks
4 @ CLE
3 vs CHC
2 vs PHI
3 @ CIN
3 @ BAL
3 vs CLE
Yankees have :
3 @ CWS
3 @ MIA
3 @ ATL
3 vs BOS
3 vs WSH
3 @ TB
So Yankees really need to try to take advantage here and gain some games need at least 4 wins this week and hopefully they can stick it back to BOS when they play them after the embarrassment in June.

I wish they would retire this stat
Ok so the rangers are 98-102 in the same time frame?? That makes the stat useless since the rangers are in first place.

Anyone can see that. Cash started to panic and begged him to get back out there and now he has to give it a rest every 5-6 days to relieve the pain & swelling. This team just does not have any direction or leadership from the players. |
