Holmes stanches the bleeding. Good to win 2 straight for a change. Knew it had been awhile, but Yikes!

It was parent's night at my daughter's high school tonight, so I missed most of this one. Glad to see that the Yankees can still win a series. 4 quality innings for King, that would be a big plus if he could pull this off and become a reliable starter next season.

Oh man, I went through that exercise a few years ago and can't remember the total. I didn't set out with a checklist or anything, they were all targets of opportunity. So many that were demolished long ago -- Shibe Park in Philly, Memorial Stadium in Baltimore, Forbes Field in Pittsburgh, Crosley Field in Cincinnati, Griffith Stadium in Washington, Tiger Stadium, County Stadium in Milwaukee, Comiskey in Chicago, old Busch in St. Louis, Candlestick in SF, the Kingdome, Jarry Park in Montreal, Exhibition Stadium in Toronto, of course old YS and Shea -- man, that's just the oldest ones and I'm boring myself before starting on newer places. However many it is, there are way more minor league stadiums. Lots of wasted time. Wow! Very impressive. I'm been to Fenway, Yankee Stadiums 2 and 3, Atlanta-Fulton, Camden Yards, the Trop, Candlestick, Oracle (Giants), Dodger Stadium, PNC, Oakland Coliseum and Olympic Stadium. I’ve only been to the two Baltimore parks, Memorial and Camden and Veteran’s Stadium. Regret not going to NYC once for Yankee Stadium, but somehow not being there probably makes it more mystical. I did go to a football game in Denver once, too… I guess I should add Ripken Field and the Iron Pigs joint, whatever that’s called now…

I can remember going to see the Frederick Keys when they were the Orioles Class A affiliate. Pete Rose Jr. was on that team. They used to have a corny seventh inning stretch tradition called "show us your keys" when everyone would hold their car keys and jangle them. Minor league baseball is a joy. There was a short-lived team in Pueblo called the Big Horns. They folded halfway through their one season of 1995. Never made it there, but I did take in a Colorado Springs Sky Sox game in the late 1980s when they were in the PCL. Coors is fun, and there is a really good museum across the street that has memorabilia from all the old major league parks. Worth seeing even if the Rockies aren't playing.

She's a senior, so that was my last Parents Night.

I could have easily wandered over to Wilmington for a game, but never did. Denver had become such a hellhole that I have no desire to be there. Colorado is not unlike other states in that we have our major cities and then we have the extreme rural areas, with my area being about as extremely rural as it gets. I hope I never see Denver again… 🤢
