Not bad for a player that they were going to non-tender. Well, shoot. After all the trouble we went to to unlock him. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 It didn’t quite turn out as impressive as when King Kong got loose, did it?…

This is how a big market team acts! Maybe they learned their lesson by not keeping Seger. I don’t think I’d be happy to see the Yanks get that pair. They didn’t win anything in LA. Trout is already showing signs that he’s going to be a man with two careers, young Trout and old Trout, sort of like Pujols. Will Ohtani ever pitch again? Will his every sixth day habit disrupt the rotation? I personally think that if Ohtani is to pitch again it’s time for home to grow up and not expect the rest of the rotation accommodate him. Pitch every fifth day like a MLB pitcher does…The sixth day stiff apparently didn’t save your arm, did it?… In any event, lots of payroll tied up in those two. That’s why the Angels didn’t win. There was little left to build the rest of the team…

I wouldn't trade for Trout's contract but if the Yankees didn't have Stanton's contract on their books, Ohtani would be a perfect fit at DH. Plus all the marketing opportunities the Yankees would have with him would make the contract worth it.

Plus all the marketing opportunities the Yankees would have with him would make the contract worth it. The keys would be : Trout agrees to move to LF. He’s no longer a legit CF We move Stanton. Ohtani either agrees to either go into a five man rotation, work only out of the bullpen, or retire from regular pitching… The player should fit the team, rather than the team fit the player. His six day pitching routine and his near insistence on winning the MVP indicate a large ego that needs to be reined in. I also would not like seeing Yankee players donning “his” helmet after HR’s. Hand them a big gavel instead. This is Judge’s team… Then I could live with it…

Mostly fringe pieces this year… Jeimer Candelario and Matt Chapman get my attention at 3B, but I don’t have a strong desire to see either in pinstripes. If we get them I’m okay with it… or not get them… I’m okay with that, too.

What a train wreck of an organization.

What a train wreck of an organization. They had some good talent a couple years ago. Went south real fast.

In his last five seasons Sevy has thrown a total of 209 innings with a 13-12 record and ERA+ of 93. Still only entering his age 30 season, but that's a really deep hole to climb out of.

Some great points Matt. I was ready to open the vaults to get Soto. This does give some pause. Hopefully a lot of due diligence goes into this.

The bat 🦇 and OBP are Hall of Fame bound. The culture was likely established prior to Soto’s arrival (Manny gets my vote). If the defense is that awful then Kiermaier has to be in center then on the bench to sub in later innings when Dominguez returns.
