What former players said they didn't like playing here? My memory is failing me at the moment. Clint Frazier, Joey Gallo, Sony Gray from recent vintages. Yea cuz all of them played like trash when here.

Montas got more than I expected. SP is expensive. Yep, I thought that he would sign the same kind of contract that Severino signed with the Mets.

When the Yankees signed Montas, someone on the other board, I can't recall who pointed out that his stats outside of the Oakland Stadium were very marginal. I'm not dissapointed we didn't sign him.

I remember a few weeks before the Yankees traded for him, a few of us had a discussion about if the Yankees were interested in trading for him, his arm problem should be a red flag for them.

And it was. I remember hearing it discussed on the broadcast that Montas was on a pitch count in his very first start in New York.

Getting Montas was not very popular here either, as he was approximately one and a half runs of ERA worse away from Oakland. I had no clue he would fetch so much money in free agency. I saw him being re-signed as a potential weapon out of the bullpen with his splitter and an uptick in velocity as a one inning pitcher....but not at that price.

Does bringing Geo back make any sense when they already have Oswald and Oswaldo for the utility roles? Maybe it does if they are going to include Peraza as part of a trade package for a starting pitcher.

It makes a LOT of sense because: Little Geo is a friend of mine We get some money and we buy a cheap-a-wy-ine Sit on the corner and have a holiday-ay-a-hay-yay-ay Hide the bottle when the cop goes by Talk about women and lie, lie, lie…

It's almost as if Cash and Stein think we can be an elite team just be scoring a lot of runs. It's like they have no clue how important a pitching staff is.

I think Hal and Cash are rebuilding "the Bronx Bombers" but at the same time looking for the right pitching deals. Honestly, signing a pitcher for 10 years who has never thrown a pitch in MLB is a major gamble. Giving Montas the kind of deal he got is also likely wasteful. I'm not sure if Severino gave the Yankees a chance to match the Mets' deal or if Cash was even interested, but that could have been a very friendly deal. I think you'll see at least two more pitching deals before pitchers and catchers report.

Rodon was supposed to be a legit #2 behind Cole, but all he was last season was an expensive disaster. They need a bounce back from Rodon for sure.

On the bright side for Sevy, staying with the Mets, he doesn't even havd to sell his house!
