I don't know anything about this guy. Minor league depth, I guess. m Huge power, but hasn’t been able to hit in MLB. Natural SS that’s been moved to third and excels defensively. His MLB weakness seems to be the FB, not a good sign at 27-28. We’ll see. I’m (pretty) sure he’s not being looked at as the first option at 3B…

At what point this winter do we worry? I have not seen one thing done yet to make me think we'll compete next season. Soto alone isn't taking us to the Playoffs.

If we don't pick up any pitchers by the time pitchers and catchers report or all the available options start signing elsewhere, I'll start to get concerned. The market still has a lot of options out there, but we definitely need some pitching help. I think our bats are in decent shape.

There’s not only the market we know about, they’re also the “under market”. A market of which we are kept unaware, where GMs ask about players that aren’t known to be available and propose players that tempt a team to move someone they hadn’t thought of moving. That’s why a lot of trades catch us by surprise. I think it’s one aspect of the job that Cashman excels at…

Didn't the Yankees just refuse to give him an offer reported yesterday?
Classic Nightengale.

Classic Nightengale.
I would say the Yankees appear to be busy studying other markets and may get back to the lad if they can’t find someone better… 🤓

This team will hit. it will score runs. If Stanton is rejuvenated as some report, it could hit to history making levels. But it has serious flaws.

I am not an advocate of judging people, especially in the court of public opinion, via click-bait articles, and from the eternally-aggrieved social justice warriors. Too many gold-diggers out there trying to make a buck or achieve some level of fame and attention. If you have ever been falsely accused of a crime, in reality - unlike theory, you are guilty until you can prove your innocence - even in a court of law. When that happens, you find out who your friends (and even family) are. Bauer was never arrested, never formally charged with a crime, and likewise never had his day in a court of law. All allegations were rejected by the district attorney. Even the restraining order was dissolved by a female court judge who did not buy the allegations. Yet, Bauer lost his job and is now saddled with a reputation of an abuser. No doubt that Bauer is an awkward individual, has difficulty getting along with people, which are a couple of several reasons why I have always suspected that he is on the spectrum for characteristics of autism. College and professional athletes are warned each year that whenever they have sexual encounters to always use a condom and to throw away the condom immediately by flushing it down the toilet, as there are numerous women who have used the contents of the condom in attempt to get themselves pregnant. In college, I was a good looking guy. More than a couple of times, girls would lie to me about their age, about being on the pill, and even about being married or single. This one girl from my Spanish class asked me to tutor her. One thing led to another and once in the sack, she asked me to strangle her, to slap her, and to bite her throat and leave marks - man, I was dressed and ran to my car faster than you can say Anthony Volpe! Trust me, being falsely accused and having to fight for your own reputation is something I would not wish on my worst enemy. Just read a couple Kafka novels and you'll get the idea. Unless you have lived through it, don't be so quick to believe the rhetoric...at least not to a virtual certainty. Hell, I went through enough with false accusations and such just working when I was with that Dutch bunch of religious freaks on the greenhouse business. I can only imagine what a crazy-ass chick could do…

Bauer is a narcissistic psychopath who would be a cancer to any clubhouse. I don't want any part of him. His long standing rift with Cole is a result of sophomoric envy. His abuse of women is horrific and it's unlikely that he has suddenly changed. I hope he signs with the Red Sox. I am not an advocate of judging people, especially in the court of public opinion, via click-bait articles, and from the eternally-aggrieved social justice warriors. I apologize to anyone who was offended by my comments. I reacted to the very negative reports about Mr. Bauer and to the you tube show that he started since his suspension. I violated my own ethical code by assuming and forming opinions without personally knowing the facts. I have always tried to be non-judgmental and kind with others and I absolutely failed to follow that position. If anything, I should have limited my concerns to his on-field behaviors. If you and others feel that this board would be better without me, I will remove myself. Sincerely, Oburg Bob

Discourse is how we get to know each other. Please take my post in the spirit in which it was written, as simply my point of view on the issue. I am very close to a free speech absolutist. As Voltaire so famously said, “I may not agree with what you say, but I will fight for your right to say it.” Live and let live. Vive la difference!

No need to measure your words here. In fact there were some great points and reminders in your discourse that at the very least Mr. Bauer may be a difficult personality to work with. Whether that’s because he has a medical or mental condition or not that can be disruptive…
