Do you have a problem with putting Dominguez in CF "with almost no mlb experience"? If Trevino is the "everyday" catcher, where is Wells gonna get the ABs? Not many catchers start more than 100 games in a season . Wells will get plenty of at bats with trevino as number 1 . Trevino knows the yankees pitcher better than wells . As for dominguez , he is there for necessity . When he comes back later in the season he will replace verdujo not judge or soto . But, you didn't answer the question... Do you have a problem with putting Dominguez in CF "with almost no mlb experience"?

Wells defense seemed fine to me last year. And he was really heating up with the bat the last few weeks of the season. We need offense, I would make him the starter. I think Trevino will catch Cole and then they can sit Wells against some lefties. Maybe a 60/40 split? Yea, 60 Wells / 40 Trevino hopefully if that's what you mean.

Maybe a 60/40 split? agree. this is the scenario i see. trevino will catch cole and play against lefties and some righties. he will be considered the starter but wells will get lots of action. if he performs well, then it moves more to 50:50. actually thought wells was fine. he'll learn a lot from trevino and can eventually see a situation where they move to a platoon situation except for cole. maybe similar to how it went w girardi & posada.

They will be taking their time bringing him back , thats why they brought in verdujo . I think when he first comes back he will be sharing cf with judge . Wells was only brought up last season because trevino was hurt and rordtvedt was a terrible hitter . Dominguez was gonna be in the majors by the end of last season regardless . Wells is 24 years old and will be 25 in july , tell me if he so ready to be the number 1 catcher , why did they take so long to bring him up?

Your argument re not playing Wells was that he has little MLB experience, yet you don't seem to have the same argument re handing the CF job to Dominguez, as long as he's healthy. Everything else you said re playing Dominguez is irrelevant. Both Wells & Dominguez spent 2+ years in the minors. So what??

Dominguez was compared to trout and is about 4 years younger. Wells wasnt compared to anyone like that not even posada . Wells is going to be 25 this year and is a rookie , thats old for a rookie . Now i ask why was wells in the minors so long compared to dominguez ? If you know the answer to that then you know the answer to why i habe more reservations with wells than dominguez

And catching is supposed to be a defensive first position . Again did yiu learn nothing from samchez ?

He had 14 MLB at bats by age 25 Wells was in the MLB this past season at Age 23 and had 70 ABs ... He will be a 24 year old rookie this year.

And posada wasnt the number 1 catcher until girardi left. Posada debuted as the back up catcher in 95 when he was 24/25 and didnt even play more than 60 games until he was 27 in 98 . 3 years after he was first brought up to the majors . If anything by comparing him to posada you validated my reasoning behind why wells needs more time before making him the number 1 catcher on the team

Every individual player is different as is the situation into which they enter MLB. I think the performance of Wells az well as that of Trevino will dictate how each is utilized. We can argue back and forth about it, twisting logic and citing the past, but each situation works itself out in the long run…

But the most logical thing to do is wait and see how he does this season before making him the number 1 catcher
