Man you people would have been miserable during the bronx zoo years lol No, the Bronx Zoo years were a bunch if fiery, team first, give 100% guys. Except for Reggie Jackson who only cared about Reggie. All managed by an alcoholic lol . And yet you worry about one guy being a trouble maker when those guys in the 70s caused alot of trouble too even if they put the team first

I hope Verdugo fits in and causes no issues. My post read, "IF" he's a troublemaker, the Yankees are better without him. I said earlier that Verdugo’s situation reminded me of Nick Swisher who had a manager that was a jerk and just couldn’t get along with him. At least I’m hoping that’s what has happened here. If Verdugo can’t snuggle up to the affable Boone he won’t make it anywhere… I thought Cora's problem with Verdugo is that wasn't running the bases hard. I respect Cora for calling him out for that, since we know Boone has no problem with a player dogging it on the bases.

But they put the team first and gave 100%. Except for reggie . Thats one trouble maker there The real troublemaker on the 1978 team was Reggie on the field, Billy and George in the front office. Once Bob Lemon came in things became peaceful all around for the team, they would catch the Red Sox. Clipper

Reggie and Thurman hated each other, Pinella and Nettles were closet psychopaths.

Exactly and people now worry about one guy being a trouble maker lol I guess some just don't understand. It's the type of troublemaker. Nettles, Piniella, and Munson would run through a minefield to win. They weren't altar boys, true, but when the game started, they were all business. If Verdugo plays like that and is not a distraction on the field, no problem. Munson had every right to dislike Reggie. Reggie was selfish and lazy, and didn't put the team first.

Yankees’ No. 3 ranked prospect faces impossible challenge cracking the roster empiresportsmedia.com/new-york-yankees/yankees-no-3-ranked-prospect-faces-impossible-challenge-cracking-the-roster/Everson Pereira, who spent 27 games with the Yankees to close the 2023 season, has plenty of upside. Unfortunately, Pereira hit .151/233/.194 over 103 plate appearances at the highest level. He collected 10 RBIs with a 38.8% strikeout rate and 23 wRC+. Pereira struggled to make the transition to the next level, despite hitting 312/.386/.551 over 35 Triple-A appearances. It would be silly to ignore Pereira’s upside offensively and versatility as a defensive piece. However, the Yankees simply don’t have enough roster spots to hand out with Jones and Dominguez waiting on the wing. It is more likely that Perera will be utilized as a trade piece at the summer deadline to reinforce the starting rotation. It will be difficult to watch Pereira rot in Triple-A this upcoming season, but the Yankees have their sites set on Dominguez recovering from Tommy John surgery and Jones correcting some of his flaws from last season. Pereira has the capacity to be a starter in the outfielder; he just needs more reps. The Yankees won’t have enough opportunities to hand out to all three players, so Pereira may end up being the sacrificial lamb on the trade market.

NJ Advance Media | Randy Miller, Max Goodman, and Bob Klapisch: The NJ beat writers sat down for a roundtable and discussed the landscape in the AL East. Two of them, Goodman and Klapisch, tabbed the Baltimore Orioles as favorites. Miller, however, is more confident that the Yankees can win the division. He acknowledged there are big question marks in New York but pointed out to the O’s not having a true ace.
