Another hit? Did Montas just give up another hit? What else is new?

Cashman's still in his sleeping bag after a hectic rappel up & down some two-story building, so he hasn't heard what happened. Remind me again, whom did he trade away for Montas last year? Maybe Montas will now do what Sonny Gray did when he left us and played a year or so for Cinci., i.e., prove that Brian's fixed judgments need smashing.

Two years with the Yankees and I still don't know what he looks like! Two innings pitched and an ERA of 34.4 Thanks Cashman!

Crazy stat: Sears, Waldichuk and Medina were the top three in innings pitched for the A's this season. Only Seats pitched OK, but they did pitch. Montas pitched 1.1 innings in 2023.

I like the rule! Never liked the DH! The union loves it because guys like Stanton can hang on and collect millions of dollars! It also makes lazy managers ( no names here ) have to actually THINK! But I'm old school and admit it! Baseball makes a major mistake thinking MLB can compete with the NFL or the NBA! The NBA has only 15 players on a team! Maybe 5 or 6 make big money! The NFL has huge TV and now streaming contracts. They also have a hard cap! Yet there is maybe 12 minutes a game of football from snap to whistle! The rest is dead time and many commercials. But fans love that 12 minutes of action! Baseball is also talking about designated runners so the high end players won't have to run and get injured. Just run to first! Computers calling balls and strikes! Baseball is boring compared to the other leagues! How many rallies do we see today with players lucky to hit 200? Its all about the homerun! I remember watching a Giants Mets game going 22 innings until Davenport hit a homerun down the line with Casey screaming at the Umpire! Now they throw red flags! All they needed to do was have a rule keeping the batter in the box! I don't see the pitch clock making the game anymore exciting, just less game! If that's what fans want, so be it! I will just do more radio! The throwing to first base is also really very sad! But I'm bigjeep the early favorite for the Get Off My Lawn! award.

Inger’s not going to give up his Brooks Robinson-like streak without a fight…

My opinion at the time of the trade hasn't changed. I understand why the Yankees made the trade, but there's no way they should have included both Waldichuk and Medina in that trade.
