Donaldson was a throw in money dump! Had to take him! For the irreplaceable IKF.
No hate to IKF. But he was not worth taking Donaldson's contract.
All these bad pick ups and trades add up to a 500 season and not making the playoffs! I still believe that all these pickups off the garbage heap won't get us to the WS! We need a ground up rebuild and that they will never do! All our prospects to Cashman are just trade chips. 7 young pitchers gone! And we have a rental that is not going to sign an extension! We should have passed!

We should have passed! San Diego was only 29-27 after acquiring Soto in 2022 and 82-80 in 2023. He alone is not a magic elixir. What could be the elixir is his addition to a line up that has a healthy Rizzo and Judge. A team that doesn’t have a failed sophomore that was handed an opportunity to run with it and wasn’t able to do so, all resulting in a veritable merry go round in the OF and at IB for the majority of the season. A healthy starting rotation. Even at that, San Diego seemed to be loaded last season. I’m still reluctant to feel that we’re going to make the playoffs in 2024, but over all I feel like we should get there. Mr. Cashman still had work to do. I felt that way last year, too, and he didn’t do much more than trash picking. I’m hoping for more…

So as bad as we might think we have it, Vegas thinks most teams have it worse. And the reality is ... Odds are even against the Dodgers winning it

Still riding the coattails of a dynasty from 20+ years ago. Bow out.

The Yankees are 3rd and they aren't even done building their pitching staff. I hope their not done! They shouldn't be done, because other than Cole, the staff is a bunch of question marks.

No. In my opinion, after he spends some time in Triple A, Gomez is good enough to be in the Yankees rotation. Poteet seems to be a low risk high reward depth signing.

Max is almost certainly right in thinking more moves will follow but I think Cashman should have moved a lot earlier. Depth arms were available.

I was being a little cheeky with my comment. It would be hard to imagine the Yankees make an "all in" move like Soto and not address the holes in the starting pitching staff. I just think Cash misreads the market too often and is left with less than desirable options.
