How can anyone not vote no ?! Just look at the last 5 years and please tell me why despite all that he still deserves to stay? I mean the 2022 deadline is gonna be hurting the yankees big time for years to come . Btw i thought it said should cashman go . Thats why i voted yes . Is there anyway to change it?

I made the same mistake you made at first because the Thread subject and poll question asks opposite things. But if you click your vote, you can retract it and vote again.

While I'm not as much of a Cashman fan as I used to be, I voted yes. Because not counting the ridiculous 2020 covid season, I looked at the last 5 years(2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023) and saw some bad trades some good trades. During that time, I also saw that the Yankees have a record of 376-272 won-loss record which is a .580 winning %. They also made the post season in 4 out of those 5 years.
Anything can happen in the postseason, so the best teams on paper don't always make it to the world series. Just ask the 2023 Orioles, Braves, and Dodgers.

Doesnt excuse cashman for being one of the worst gms in mlb in those 5 years and being embarrassed by the same teams over abd over in the playoffs in those same 5 years . Again the 2022 deadline alone will be screwing over the yankees for tears to come .

Not sure what could have Cashman done differently for the Yankees not to be embarrassed by the same teams. There's the trash can series, and in other years the Astros, Rays, and Red Sox were the superior team. Sometimes the other teams deserve credit.
As for the summer 2022 trades...I didn't like the Montas trade either. But it remains to be seen if that trade will haunt the Yankees for years. Monty is now a free agent. Effross did pitch well for the Yankees before he went on the IL. Andrew Benintendi trade was a one sided trade for the Yankees, so was the Gallo for Beeter trade.
Sorry but, one of the worst GMs in MLB in those 5 years wouldn't have a team that was 376-272 won-loss record and a .580 winning %.

Oh how about trading for cole instead of letting him go to houston . Or getting machado instead of going with andujar . Or how about taking advantage of the inf free agent market instead of prospect hugging , or how about trading torres the first time around for castillo or trading volpe for castillo at the 22 deadline and not trading monty for a guy in a walking boot , instead of having the disaster of a deadline that will screw the yankees for years to come ? I could go on but i have things to do

I could go on but i have things to do Running a baseball team isn’t like running a factory where perfection is predictable. Lots of posters for instance wanted to keep Andujar. He looked like he had a great future. Lots of posters also thought (correctly) that Machado was a punk that woukd be a bad fit. Were mistakes made? Could someone else have pried a .600 winning record out of the team or won 5 World Series? Who knows? I think your point has been made. If you want to hear that you win, okay. You can win…

You can win… I have never been a Cashman fan and think he should have never got the job. Also thought he should have been gone many years ago. That being said, he got CC and Teixiera (sp) which I liked, and I thought Andujar would be a star. My point, while I think he is mediocre at best, he's made some good moves.

You can win… I was one of the ones who wanted to trade andujar back then because he wasnt even good enough defensively to play full time at third , thats why they had to get gio before the end of the previous season . Heck i remember how everyone complained About how bad andujars glove was during his rookie season . I dont care how much of an jerk machado is , if they get him we avoid the donaldson and ikf disaster . And we would have him at third now instead of an injury prone aging dj .

Bottom line if only for me: He's done okay here, very poorly there -- the usual with some average GMs. BUT as the proverbial "face" of the Yankees, he's been in office TOO LONG. He's acted and spoken foolishly once too often. The team needs, I think, a fresh, different perspective, period. As Tennyson once wrote, "After many a summer dies the swan." Which even applies to the smallest of human activities like MLB. Or, in more common lingo: as long as he remains the Yankees' GM, our team will remain a tired outfit.

He should have been gone years ago
