Has anybody mentioned Ruben Amaro? … Came to NY IN ‘66 and almost immediately broke his leg in a game… As a young boy I thought that injury had a much bigger impact on the team than its reality… You forgot that he also ran into OF Tommy Tresh, causing him serious knee injuries

The deep cut I want to finally see is Nettles getting honored. It's disgraceful how overlooked he's been by the Steinbrenner family.

I understand the book and all but to many of us Nettles was our guy. They honor every player from the 90s and 00s and go overboard. Settle the Nettles beef and let us and him enjoy a few more cheers before he is gone.

The left side of that infield in 67 was Amaro and Charlie Smith. Maybe the worst the Yanks ever had. Tresh declined precipitously after that 66 season. So much talent decimated by playing through injuries that today would have either kept him on the IL or been treated properly.

In my opinion, he deserves much more of an honor than Reggie Jackson! He was a Yankee twice as long as Reggie. And he easily did much more to contribute to our successes…
