2B...after Gleyber is moved to 3B. You know my thoughts on that...Re-sign Torres and leave him at 2B.
I see that Durbin has experience playing 3B. In my opinion, if a player can play SS he can play 2B or 3B. He doesn't have the power of a typical 3Bman, but Volpe's and or Torres' power numbers can off set that. Just speculating here, but it should be interesting what the Yankees think of Durbin. Their thoughts might come down to if Peraza is going to be traded or not if they decide to re-sign Torres.
He's played a lot more 2B than any other position, and I don't know if he has the arm for 3B. He's not a big guy at 5'6".

If you resign torres then that likely makes soto a one year rental . I highly doubt hal spends on both

Give me some 1894 vintage Billy Hamilton, just have to send Cashman back in Doc's DeLorean to get him. It will probably be DJ though, Judge has already lobbied for the top three to be he, DJ and Soto. Volpe is the only real running threat and I don't think he's ready to lead off yet as a hitter. He would be the best choice if he could up his BA and OBP. I would love to see Caleb Durbin break through.
With his OBP and the speed he has, I would love to see Durbin in the Yankees lineup. But... Where would he play?
Durbin would be a big fan favorite if he came up to Yanks and produced. Fans love players like him.

Probably, unless one or both of them sign deferred money contracts similar to what Ohtani did.

I agree. Players like him can spark a lineup.

I think he's probably ticketed for AAA next year, so unless he really goes off in ST/AAA, he's probably looking at arriving in the majors in 2025.
Rizzo is a FA and if he doesn't return it might shift DJ to 1b. Torres is also a FA who would open up 2b if he doesn't return.
Jorbit Vivas and Peraza would also be in the picture. Peraza probably has the best arm for 3b, but Durbin has played there and SS (but more 2b).
Durbin should at least get strong consideration to be the utility guy as then he also can pinch run. His speed should give him an edge towards getting on to the ML roster.

I’d settle for a move to 3B… but even the Cubs fans do t want him at 2nd base, huh?… They've got Nico Hoerner there, with Nick Madrigal as a backup. Besides...you want some pop outta your 3B. Perhaps you and others have missed this....273/.347/.453/.800/25 HR
