Peraza and Cabrera have officially busted ...stick a fork in both of them Yankees are now 1 deep at all 4 infield positions ... If either starter goes down or needs a rest we are stuck with Cabrera and Vivas (or non rostered Jeter Downs or Kevin Smith) ... 2 players that wouldnt make any other MLB roster
Anyone still think we should trade Gleyber??
Gleyber has now become as important a signing as Soto and I hope the Yankees realize this and get something done now.
That Trey Sweeney trade is not looking real good right now

Donovan Solano is still out there in the free agent market and brings infield versatility.

Not to me ... we had an entire lineup of low OPS players on the field just yesterday I never ever want to see a career .600 ops in the Yankees lineup under any circumstances I'd rather see what Vivas could do

Not good reviews playing 3B...who plays SS?

Not good reviews playing 3B...who plays SS? I think Donovan Solano would be a very nice option as a utility guy that could hit and play multiple positions ... right now it's Cabrera who is proving to be absolutely useless as a hitter The big problem is Peraza was supposed to be the long term solution at SS or 3B if DJL or Volpe were to go down. I wouldnt feel comfortable with IKF at SS or 3B long term offensively ... We already know what he is. I'd rather see what Jeter Downs could do.

It's gotta be glove first and from what I can see, Solano has the versatility needed in a UTIF. But you were absolutely right in challenging the notion that Yanks have excessive IF depth...and the calls to trade Gleyber. Hindsight is, of course, 20/20, but imagine where they'd be now had that been done.

Peraza is getting a history of always landing on the IL. Becoming less dependable. Could be another prospect that never blooms. Cabrera seems to be a flash in the pan. Had a decent 2022 season until late and was a total bust in the playoffs. Last year he failed miserably. I do believe the team realizes the issue and that is why they tried to sign Hernandez. But of course not even out of spring training and this team is having issues. Next up the starting rotation. 50/50 someone lands on IL before they break camp.

I was gonna bring his name up, but figured I'd leave it to you. I've been trying to get to a ST game to see him, Higgy, King & Wandy...haven't been able. Last chance Wednesday. BTW...saw an interview with Wade, who grew up not far from San Diego, in which he stated he was always a Yankee fan.

I agree. He would be a good player for the Yankees to sign. He played with the Yankees before, and he can hit too.

I would think with cortez , schmidt and rodon all doing badly so far. , that the starting rotation is a bigger issue

They need at least one of those guys to come through or they are toast At this point all we can do is cross our fingers and see where we are at the all star break

And getting burnes would have helped tremendously because either schmidt or cortez would be in the bullpen
