There's a big hole that lineup without the Big Guy.

Austin Wells with a rocket for a double! No problem turning on a fastball.

Flaherty & Frazier have nothing but good stuff to say re Wells... His swing is so easy to like, reminds me of Nick Johnson, except Austin's bat is quicker. When I saw him behind the plate for the first time last season, I thought, "Why would you move this kid from catcher?" He's so quiet behind the plate and calls a good game. His arm and release looked MLB average to me, nothing stuck out as a hinderance, something I never said about Gary Sanchez, who all he had was a strong arm. Terrible behind the plate to an extent where with a runner on third and two strikes, nothing nasty with break could be thrown with confidence.

Great to see Rizzo being Rizzo again! What's the word, Kaybli? Are you keeping The Garden State free from evil and aphids?

Nothing. All is close to the vest. Probably trying to make a trade without telling the opposition that you are at their mercy.

Yankees ace Gerrit Cole will be out at least one-to-two months and will head to Los Angeles for an appointment with noted sports surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache, The Post has learned.
Several Yankees doctors and ElAttrache have viewed Cole’s preliminary film, and while none has detected a tear in his ulnar collateral ligament, there’s enough concern about the ligament that ElAttrache has suggested an in-person visit.
Word is that the defending AL Cy Young Award winner will be out for an “extended period,” although for now, the hope and belief is that Cole has a chance to return sometime in May or early June.

I think the major question re catching was his arm, which he hurt I believe in high school. As you said, I haven't seen anything that rings alarm bells.

Ugh, I shouldn't have asked.
