Yankees come back and win 10-9. In a pitchers' duel, there were 29 hits in the game! Gil makes another loud statement why he should make the roster. Relievers today had a tough time all around. Volpe with four hits. Jack Curry said Volpe worked on flattening his swing in the off season, eliminating some of the upswing, keeping the bat on plane in the strike zone longer, which seems to be paying off. I would love to see Volpe in the leadoff spot, but he has to prove that his OBP will exceed the slow-footed D.J. LeMahieu.

The more pertinent question, the one you never answered, is can Torres play third base? … 🤓 The stupid Yankees management lost another opportunity to try him there today in a 10-9 game that wouldn’t have been so close if they had traded Jones for Burnes, or if Dylan Cease was a frontline pitcher and they had traded Jones who should not be untouchable for him… |

They are using a challenge system on balls and strike calls and the Yanks just used it to get an inning ending strikeout.

Spencer with a Baltimore chop that he did not see was going to be fair, but with his speed he still beat out the throw to first even with a delayed start. Big guy can move from home to first.
