This is what I like to see. Build a team with young, home-grown players that'll be exciting & competitive for many years. An OF of Jones, Dominguez & Judge...Soto if they can re-sign him. welcome back bob. it is safe ...
you & i have been in lockstep about this. build a team from within and then fill in. that's what the late 90's teams did. start w the core 5 (i always include bernie) then add on.
someone mentioned the sound of the ball off spencer jones' bat. remind anyone of someone else - maybe # 99 ...
Thanks bumper...I never really left, just kinda lurked for a while. Good to see you posting here. It's a good group...now. Need to get Newinn involved... I know the strike zone issue has been a major concern for you. I'm all for robo-umps, but I'm not crazy about the challenges. Defeats the efforts of speeding the game up.

Bernie is so unassuming, he is often an after thought, even though he batted clean up most of the time those championship years. I've posted this before, but he was so pleasant and accommodating to all the fans there...including the Twins fans. A really good guy...

No doubter. This kid is impressive. I don't know if the streak is still active, but I still have not seen him swing and miss at a pitch this spring. He eventually did swing and miss. Streak not active anymore. He did? Trade him now! 🤓 He just seems to be coming along so fast. I seldom get over-excited about a player that’s as wet behind the ears as he is in a baseball context, but the taller, left-handed young inger reports keep coming in. I’m starting to believe he could be THAT good…

A really good guy... that picture of bernie w the guitar takes me back to my days living in new york. bernie often played in jams at various clubs/bars in westchester county (still does). saw him a number of times. my friend was the drummer and he introduced me to bernie. i'm also a guitarist so we talked guitar for a couple minutes. a really gracious man. and he can play.

Or ask to start working out at first and third base…”Just in case you need me, skipper!”… I think there’s potential for his power to play up in NY…

Add me to the list ..I love developing players from within. I'm excited to see what Volpe brings with a full season of baseball in front of him.
