Ok, time to weigh in. Three simple questions. 1) How many games will the Yankee win this year? 2) Will they win the division? 3) Will they make the playoffs.

Aw, Kaybli stole my number. I'll go with 91, N, Y.
Let's regurgitate this thread in October.

With a full season of Cole pitching I would have said 100 wins. But without Cole to start the season, I think they will win 92 games, and win their division by 1 game.

Here’s copy and paste regurgitation of a post I just made in the Spring Training thread. If I had seen that this thread had been started I would have made it here.
I’m too confused about this bunch to come up with a number… but gun to my head] 86 wins. I hope we’re better, though…
##############################
This team is a true mystery to me heading into 2024. It’s hard to imagine a team with the Judge/Soto combo finishing in the basement, and it’s also hard to imagine a team with so many question marks winning 90+ and sailing into the playoffs.
I really don’t know what to expect out of this group this year. If Cortes and Rodon pitch like they did in 2022, they can negate the effects of losing Cole for a couple of months. But if they don’t.
If Rizzo and DJ rebound… but if they don’t…health, improvement of Volpe at the plate, or not. So many mysteries to unlock…

87 wins, no division but they make the expanded playoffs.

I make this prediction under the assumption they won't have Cole for the whole season: 84: no, no. If Cole is healthy, back by June and is able to pitch like he usually does, then 88, no, yes.
Unless they get unusually lucky with Rizzo, Volpe, Wells and Gil. If they do, anything can happen.
