I put a good share of Burdi’s performance on Boone. He’s not the guy to bring into a high pressure situation with two runners on that just can’t be allowed to score. Boone knows what he brings to the table, which is overpowering stuff that can be wild. He needs to start clean innings unless the game is a blow out. Fifth, sixth, seventh innings with no one on or not a close game. Poor situational choice… I still like Burdi and hope he’s not vilified or sent down for this one game… You are a "Yankee Immortal" and I am just a "MLB Veteran"! Burdi has shown nothing since coming to the big leagues! He's 31 years old and sho uld be gone!

You can have all the stats you want but if you're manager doesn't use them correctly, what does it matter?

We have those pitchers, but even in a 1-0 game trailing, most managers won’t bring them in, choosing to save them for situations with the lead. I wouldn’t fit in with that crowd. I’d want to keep it close and give the offense a chance…

I think with John L. gone he was hoping Burdi might step into that role. It didn't work out but I understand his thinking. If the game was tied or we had the lead he might have gone with Hamilton.

I can handle that. Indeed, it may have worked if Burdi has been “on” with his command…

Boone is a sub-standard in-game tactician. That's a glaring example. I suppose you could say he's experimenting early in the season, but I'm not a fan of that. All 162 games count come October. You have to be smart and make measured decisions...in every game.
