Sevy with a beard now. Everyone has a beard before and after. Did he need a beard? Sorry, sorry. Sometimes, I can't help myself.

Sevy with a beard now. Everyone has a beard before and after. Had a better start allowing only 1 run in 5 IP after a disastrous first start.

Thanks...it's still a bit brisk down here! What part of the shore, when I lived back there many trips to Seaside for boardwalk and swimming and also Toms River for fishing. Point Pleasant. I use to go to Seaside and LBI as a kid. Seaside was pretty sleazy last time I went there, years ago.

Purdue has made the men's final game once before, in 1969, but lost to the Wooden machine UCLA Bruins, 95-72, winning their 3rd of five straight NCAA Men's Backetball titles. Lew Alcindor (later Kareen Abdul-Jabbar) won his 3rd in a row. I believe Wooden played at Purdue. Didn't take it easy on his old school. The Wooden UCLA teams didn't take it easy on anyone. The year before, they went to Houston to play the #2 ranked Houston team headed by Elvin Hayes, Houston upset them 71-69. They got them in a rematch game in the national semifinal, and UCLA destroyed them 101-69.

Stanton singles through the right side Verdugo flies out to center. Volpe hits a grounder to 2nd, and the Jays get the 4-6 force.

Wells gets a hanging curve on 1-2, down the middle just below the waist, and lines it hard but just foul down the right side. Then swings under a riding 93 mph FB just above and outside middle for the K, inning over
Top 4, 6-1 Yanks. White at 15 pitches total so far.

Clement gets a hanging slider outer 3rd, and loops it into the LF corner for a double.

Varsho rolls over a 1-0 slider to Torres, throws him out as Clement gets to 3rd with 1 down.

Don't walk the backup catcher.
That was a strike to be fair.
