FB up and in, but not up and in enough, spoiled. 20 pitches now. Slider not located well, in the middle, knee-high, drops the bat on it and pulls it sharply near 1st. Rizzo slides on his knees to glove, throws from his knees, and his arcing soft toss just gets there in time, and just stays within Hamilton's reach so he can grab it and touch 1st ahead of Gimenez.
That pitch/play was almost a bad outcome on all three parts: the contact, the fielding and the throw/catch.
Top 8, 3-2 Yanks. Cabrera, Trevino and Grisham for the Yanks.

another inning for Hamilton? 21 pitches makes it very tough. If he goes another, he's gone for the 2nd game AND tomorrow.

1-2 on Cabrera leading off. FB below middle on 2-2 pulled to Rocchio, throws him out, 1 down.

Ferguson likely burned for the 2nd game. Should be able to go one inning tomorrow if he has to.

Why were you going to second, Trevino?

3-1 on Trevino. Gets a 3-2 slider inside and turns on it hits it hard down the 3rd base line but foul. Aww, come on with this stuff
FB at the top, popped to short right, Gimenez goes back, has a bead, then backs away as Laureano loses it in the wind and sun, it falls, but he recovers and throws Trevino out at 2nd trying for two. Bad bad bad.

Grisham remains perfect without a base hit on the season.

FB in the middle thigh high, hit to deep right center, but not deep enough, dies on the track and Freeman catches, inning over.
1st sign of life from Grisham this season.
Bottom 8, 3-2 Yanks. Boone has a tough call here no matter what he does.
Ramirez, J. Naylor and Freeman for the Guardians.

Hope I'm wrong, but don't like the feel of this game. Too many guys left on base and a really bad error. Would hate to use up the pen and not get the W, especially with a callup going in game 2.

Statcast numbers on the Grisham flyout: 104 mph, 382 feet, an XBA of .740 for some reason I can't fathom because it's a HR in 0 of 30 parks, and that's hit too high for it to be anything other than a flyout 90% of the time.
