Yanks lose their 3rd in a row, 5-4, and lose their first series of the year, dropping to 12-6 on the season, and losing ground to at least the O's and the Jays.
Angels have scored the ghost runner in the 13th, lead the Rays at the moment, 6-5, still top 13 there
Sox-Guardians go top 19th, tied at 6. It was Wilyer Abreu who made the great catch on Ramirez to keep the game tied.

Need to work themselves out of this funk tomorrow. Stroman gonna have to play stopper and hopefully eat some innings. Our starters are really taxing the bullpen. They're gonna be cooked by mid-May at this rate.

OK, Yanks lose and O's and Jays win, so the O's are just 1/2 game back, and the Jays close to 2 games behind.
If the Angels hold, the Rays might fall into 5th, still 3 games back.
The Sox are still tied, but the Guardians got a single from Josh Naylor and have 1st and 3rd, nobody out top 10.

Yanks try to avoid getting swept in this series tomorrow afternoon. Game is at 3:07 on YES
Kevin Gausman, who's owned the Yanks in recent years, but is having a terrible start to the season, starts for the Jays. He's 0-2 with an 11.57 ERA after 3 starts, just 9 1/3 innings, 16 hits, 3 HRs and 2 BB allowed with 10 K.
Marcus Stroman for the Yanks, who got hit hard early in his last start against the Guardians. He's 1-1 in 3 starts with an ERA of 2.12. In 17 innings, he's allowed 11 hits, 7 runs, 4 earned, 1 HR, 7 BB with 17 K.
Yanks need to take advantage of Gausman's struggles before he can figure out what he has, post-injury.
And that's gonna do it for me for tonight.

hard to find too many positives in this one. top 5 in lineup 2-15 w volpe leading the way w 4 Ks. judge & rizzo totally missing in action. more shoddy defense by the usual suspect. rodon an ugly start.
positives include verdugo w 2 doubles and trevino & ocab having some good ABs.
never thought the team was as good as their record and has now regressed, finding ways to lose.
stroman needs to right the ship tomorrow.

When the Yankees went "all in" acquiring Soto it was clear that they were not planning on winning a lot of pitcher's duels. The problem is that Judge, Rizzo and Torres have all been bad. With four home runs among them, the wonder is that the Yankee record is as good as it is.
