Seems like Yankee pitchers were 2-0 on a ton of batters and going to 3 balls on more than that. Pitching from behind all night not a recipe for success. Still, had chances to win, but the big bats were absent. Oh well, try to salvage one tomorrow.

I fell asleep in the first inning and didn't wake up until the eighth. Not hitting and infield defense has been spotty.

When the Yankees went "all in" acquiring Soto it was clear that they were not planning on winning a lot of pitcher's duels. The problem is that Judge, Rizzo and Torres have all been bad. With four home runs among them, the wonder is that the Yankee record is as good as it is. They're top 5 in the AL in runs and 13th overall so scoring seems to be ok lot of these losses were pitching wise problems (couple starters bad, couple bullpen ones) 88 runs in 19 games is over 4 a game thats not bad. They also lead the AL and 4th overall in OBP and OBP was def a huge problem last year. I think pitching needs some improvement if they are putting up that kind of offensive numbers with half the team not producing fully the offense is going to be fine in the long run.

I overslept my nap and missed the first three innings.

I wish I could have slept through some of that crap…

think it goes something like this "you're never as good as you are when you're winning, and never as bad as you are when you're losing." didn't think the team was as good as record as our record (12-3) said we were and don't think we're as bad as this 3-game losing streak. we were finding ways to win and now we're finding ways to lose.
right now the offense isn't hitting on all cyclinders. judge and gleyber being the main culprits. you have to think it will change for judge. gleyber is pressing like crazy. got off to a slow start and now trying to get it back in one swing. it's probably carried over into his fielding which was never his strong suit. also worried about rizzo. better than he was after the concussion but still not really driving the ball and has made some uncharacteristic fielding plays.
we have some pitchers with "great stuff". rodon hitting 98 but couldn't put batters away and his command wasn't great. same w gil but his command was worse. also think the jays changed their approach from the first go around. and yeah at this rate w the pen needing to get 4-5 innings every night, they're gonna be burned out by june. we desperately need a full strength cole back to restore order.
while not happy with a 3-game losing streak. my windows are still closed. think most of us would have signed for 12-6.

I think we all agree Weaver is absolutely useless and needs to get his ass off of this roster. This guy has a track record of proving that he doesnt belong in the MLB yet somehow we are relying on him in imporotant situations in close games You could argue that he costs the Yankees 2 of the 3 losses during this losing streak There are so many better options in the Yankee minors or simple player swaps in an MLB trade that would be a huge upgrade over Weaver

The Astros are 6-13 so it could be much worse. Maybe the hot start spoiled me because I have been getting annoyed more than usual by the past few losses. They need Cole back, and from all accounts that should be sooner rather than later.

It isn't that the offense is bad...it just isn't as prolific as some (And I am one of that group ) anticipated it would be. And it is not coming from the sources we relied on during the offseason to make our assessments. Most of us thought Gleyber Torres would have a big year at the plate....far fewer saw big numbers ahead for Oswaldo Cabrera. With Cole there were legit questions about the depth of Yankee pitching. With him out those questions rise to concerns. This team cannot win 90 games without leading the AL in scoring. And that means home runs from Judge, Torres and Rizzo. The ptiching is going to get stressed out and worn down. The offense has to be a lot better.

Mid day naps are my favorite.
Benefit from working from home. Don't have to nap on the toilet at work anymore.
