It's amazing, with all the money Dodgers paid in regards to payroll they are essentially playing slightly above .500 baseball. A record of 12W, 11L And yet, they're still in first, because the NL West and the AL West both stink so far. 1-2 on Torres... Doesn't chase high on the FB running up and in, 2-2 Santana warming again for the Yanks. Sinker down, spoiled. Cutter just outside, Torres spoils. Still 0-0, 6:15 left in the first. FB at the top spoiled. Terrible swing, reaches for a slider outside, barely hits it, the popup near the 1st base stands is caught by Shenton, two down. |

They're talking about 4 Charles restaurant on the broadcast.
I was able to score a reservation a few months ago! Something Michael Kay wasn't even able to do!

Verdugo takes a cutter on the outside corner for strike 1, then gets a sinker near middle, inside outs to left center for a two out single.

Trevino takes a ball, then gets jammed by a sinker inside, grounds to Caballero, he throws to Mead for the force at 2nd. Inning over.
Top 8, 5-1 Yanks.
Probably will see Santana here vs. Arozarena, Palacios and Paredes.

An observation on Volpe. In the beginning of the season, he was swinging just hard enough to hit the ball, especially the outside pitches AND he was stepping toward home. Now he is over swinging and stepping toward third. I assume the hitting coach sees this? There has to be a reason he has looked so bad for the 1/2 dozen games.

Still 0-0 with 4 minutes left in the first. Rangers with 6 shots now, Caps still at 2.
Arozarena 0-1 vs. Santana. Palacios is 1-2 with a double a RBI and a Bb.
Paredes is 1-1 a two runs double.
Sinker on the corner away for strike 1. Chases a slider for strike 2.
FB outside 1-2
Cutter is just below the knees but Called strike 3 anyway. Arozarena argues, it was close but 0% on Gameday. One down.

🫡🇺🇸… Andrew Pinone(?)… 97 years old… a moment of his lifetime… Amazing and inspirational. I just called a long retired coworker to wish him a happy birthday. He just celebrated his 96th. He still drives (only locally in daylight hours), manages his investments, and files taxes. Of course having a younger wife keeps him going. |

Yeah, he seems back to his old swing right now, and is getting last year's results. Change low, 1-0 on Palacios. Jammed by a cutter inside, and his flare gets over Cabrera into left for a cheap hit. I think it started when the pitchers started coming inside so he couldn’t punch the ball to right. We always hope the coaches are reading here, but if they do, it’s seldom evident…🤓 |

Cutter inside, 2-1
Slider clips the top inside corner, not called, 3-1. Maybe 10% on Gameday
A sinker in more or less the same spot is fouled as Palacios ran on the pitch, has to go back.
Paredes takes his time out

Slider has good break but poor location down the middle and Santana is lucky he topped it foul.
Bad cutter well outside at the knees, Paredes chases and barely spoils.
Hanging cutter outside corner, and Paredes barrels it, but pulls it just foul down the 3rd base line. Lucky there, again.
