Gelof swings over a change 0-1 Then fouls off a bad sinker down the middle at 92, 0-2 Change outside 1-2 Change bounced, 2-2 Oh yeah, he handled THAT moment, YES guys. Sinker in the zone thigh high outer 3rd and he drives it into the Porch for a 2 run HR, 2-0 A's. And this game is probably over. Way to go, Yanks. No hitting lineup buries them today. Too many times this year already. Amazing. No baseball game or series is a sure win. |

Change outside to Bleday, who's pinch hitting for Schuemann.
FB at the top outside corner, fouled off, 1-1
FB into the zone near the top, inner half, 1-2
2-2 to Bleday is a change down and in, Bleday swings over, K. 2 down.

BP hurting us again.  What hurt us is zero run support. Pitchers essentially did what they can. Giving up 2 runs in a game is generally not a deal breaker if offense did their job.  |

I thought that I heard that he was warming up earlier.
Just speculating...But maybe since the Yankees are in a stretch where they play 17 game in a row without a day off, maybe they were only going to use Holmes if there was a save situation.

Miller has been brilliant for the A's so far: 7 games 9 innings, 6 hits, 2 runs, 4 BB and 17(!!) K's. His ERA is 2.00 and his WHIP is 1.111. His record is 0-0 and he has 4 saves without blowing one.
FB averaging 100.6 about 60% of the time, slider at 87-8 not quite 40% of the time, and a change about once every 5 innings.
Only 3 Yankees have ever faced him: Grisham, Soto and Trammell

Fouls off a slider on the outside corner, 0-2.
Gets a slider up in the zone, but bounces it foul.
FB outside about 3 inches at the top of the zone, Volpe checks, but Wendlestedt says he swung, K, 1 down.
