listened to much of the game and saw the last inning and a half. damn the A's have some good relievers. erceg was hitting 99-100. miller 103. totally blew us away in the 9th. boy is that montas trade looking even worse now.
we're now 5-6 in the last 11 games. the pitiful offense continues. judge 3-28 w 16Ks and only 1 walk. missing his pitch, chasing and showing no patience. volpe 3-29. gleyber 6-40 and 2 doubles all season and leaping at the pitch. rizzo 4-31. throw in wells who isn't even on the interstate and it's a pretty sad state of affairs. what once looked like a long lineup has now shrunken.
can never complain about 7 1-hit innings but didn't sound like rodon was dominating. he was facing a nothing lineup and they couldn't put anything together. our bullpen could use more of what the A's have.

I'm still concerned about Rodon Swinging strike rate, a big part of K rate, is down, too. It was about 15% in his two great seasons, 2021 and 2022. Down to 12% last season. This season. before today it was just 10.8%. In today's game, against a bad A's lineup, it was a very poor 7%, so the 10.8% is now lower.

I’m concerned about it, but honestly as long as he gets outs, I don’t care it the outfielders catch every out with their backs against the OF fences…

If the pitcher is making mistakes and misses location, he's getting to get hard regardless of how many strike outs he gets.

I'm fine with Carlos Tudor - so long as he can keep getting good results without the Ks.

Exactly. I don't care about a pitcher's K rate being down if he's getting routine groundball/flyball outs. Some power pitchers learn how to pitch differently later in their careers.

To each their own, but I for one so far aren't going to complain about Rodon. Especially when he just pitched a game where he had a no hitter for 4.2 innings and only gave up 1 hit over 7 innings overall. In my opinion, his 2.70 ERA should even be lower, because in another game, it looked like Rizzo made an error that got changed to a hit.
