With a 1 run lead I'd let Holmes try to get through the 10th. Another reason to not want a relief pitcher I won’t name that only wants to pitch one inning…🤓 |

Another reason to not want a relief pitcher I won’t name that only wants to pitch one inning…🤓 It's arguable, you don't really want Holmes protecting a 1 run lead because they can tie the game with two ground balls and he doesn't strike out that many guys, but really, he's a much better shot than anyone left in the pen. And with just 9 pitches in the 9th and just 9 more 3 days ago, he should be fresh enough to have 20 more pitches with good stuff in his arm. Fb outside by a foot at the knees, 2-2 Sinker away, Rizzo hits a 1 hop grounder to Turang, who throws him out, inning over. Bottom 10, 6-5 Yanks. Adames, Hoskins and Perkins But the Yanks inexplicably go to Tonkin He must have one special pitch to try this. i have no idea what he throws. |

A one run lead is precarious under the ghost runner scenario. It remains to be seen if Brewers supplies a run or dare say 2 to take the win.
