New MLB rules says Yanks can't have a position player pitch unless the lead gets to 10 in the 9th inning.

0-1 on Trevino, takes a slider for strike two.

Brewers can't even use a position player to pitch yet, need to be down by 8.
OK, now they can, as Trevino lifts a fly to Chourio in right, scoring Rizzo and giving the Yanks a 13-5 lead.

By the end I was thinking of taking laxatives to help our squad! End of season, a thin and haggard Kaybli watches us hoist a trophy… lol, that was 2019 I believe.

Volpe takes a strike. Hard to believe the Yanks might escape Milwaukee without facing either of their two best relievers in a key spot, Payamps or Megill, but that's what it looks like now.
Volpe fouls one back out of play, 0-2 FB outside, Volpe chases and spoils. FB near middle fouled off.
Erceg gets the last two outs and nails down the save in Baltimore, O's lose 2 of 3 to the A's, making me feel better about the Yankees bad split.
Slider outside, 1-2 Slider down the middle, but Volpe misses, fouls it off, still 1-2

Great moments in TV as we catch a Brewer player shooting a snot rocket… 🤓

Bounces a curve near home, 2-2 on Volpe. Actually Erceg got the last 3 outs, because the A's don't use Miller on back to back days yet. and he struck out Rutschmann to end it.
Volpe gets a sinker over middle, and Volpe inside outs it in front of Chourio for a hit, Cabrera moves on to 3rd with 2 down.
Excellent sign; Volpe going to right center for the HR and to right for that hit. Was going great when he was going to right on a regular basis.

We’re doing this today without Soto’s participation, but Judge had awoken…

They again call Junk's cutter a FB, it turns left to the inside corner, and ties Soto up. He pops to short to end the inning. If that had been a FB or a sinker with no run inside, he'd have crushed it.
Bottom 7, 13-5 Yanks.
Hamilton threw 18 pitches to struggle out of the jam in the 6th, so he's probably not staying in for the 7th.
Ortiz, Chourio and Frelick for the Brewers, whoever the Yanks send in.

Yanks must've fired Blake and hired presceo as pitching coach, because here comes Tonkin into the game into a wholly appropriate very low leverage situation.

Slider stays outside 1-0 Nothing FB at 92 on the outside corner, 1-1 Tonkin must have something for teams to keep picking up from other teams on waivers, but so far, I have no idea what it is. Sinker in the middle thigh high, rolled over to Cabrera for the 1st out.
