Sinker 6 inches outside, 3-0 Well, at least he's getting closer. Sinker 8 inches outside, ball 4. You gotta be stupid to not just lay it in after 2-0.

Geez, treating Ortiz like he's Hank Aaron.

Change below middle topped foul off 3rd.
He Who Must Not Be Named from the old YES board said many crazy things, but he always said something clever for this situation:
Trevino, don't even signal a pitch, just hold your glove in the middle of the zone.

1-2 on Chourio, taken low/away, 2-2 Sigh Flies open, FB way outside is ball 3. This is just stupid. FB down the middle on 3-2, lined to right, Trammell tries to make a sliding catch, but it bounces in front, and he backhands the short hop. Chourio finally catches a break 1st and 2nd, 1 down for Miller.

Sinker outer 3rd, fouled off Oh, come on, Stop rushing, finish the pitch. Sinker way outside 1-1 Change up in the zone over the middle swung under, 1-2 If they even have to warm up Holmes here, I'm going to be very, very angry.

Wiemer up, sinker way outside, ball 1 Slider way down an in, 2-0
Yanks are going to need at least two more good relievers at some point, I think. Maybe they'll get Effross back and someone else. 2-1 on Wiemer now

Change near middle above the knees, 2-2 Slider bounced and I know it's tough for a medium leverage guy to pitch with a 10 run lead, but this is abysmal. Change in and down in the zone fouled off of Trevino, I think. Yeah, it hit Trevino on the back of the left ankle. Change away, popped foul off 3rd, Jones moves over a few steps, catches, game mercifully over.
Yanks win, 15-5, to take the series against a good Brewers team in their park with two blowouts, and also move back into first by a game over the O's, heading to Camden Yards for the big 4-game set starting tomorrow. That means even if they lose 3 of 4, they'll leave Baltimore no worse than 1 game behind.

Torres gets a sinker up and in, and rips it to the gap in left center, it's cut off, but Torres infuriates the Brewers by hustling for a double. Stupid move. How is “hustling for a double” a “stupid move"…and since when should Yankee players be concerned with the “feelings” of opposing teams? Gleyber goes 5 for 11 / 4 RBI over the past 2 games, makes a couple of very nice plays…yet some find, even look for, ways to criticize. That’s what’s “classic”….ridiculously so.

Yanks win 15-5, win the series, 2-1, move back to 9 games over for the third time this season at 19-10, and back into first.
O's lose to the A's, 7-6. Jays beat the Dodgers 3-1 behind a strong 7 innings from Gausman. White Sox beat the Rays 4-2, to sweep that series. Sox and Cubs play the ESPN SundayNightBaseballTooMuchCatcherCamWayTooManyIn-gameInterviewsMurderDeathKill cast.
Yanks move a game up on the O's, all by themselves in 1st. Sox are 2 1/2 back in 3rd at the moment, pending tonight's game. Jays move into 4th by themselves, 5 games back. Rays drop into the cellar, 6 games back now and 3 games under .500.

Up by 10 in the 8th, you don't try for hustling doubles which don't mean anything. Torres had the big double yesterday, and made a great play later, and that's the Good Torres, but this is an inappropriate play because, among other reasons, he's needlessly risking an injury for no good reason. There's praising Torres, and then there's this.
