Is 2 runs going to be enough? I'll feel more confident with an added run or two.

No, Gil stays in for Mountcastle. FB outside corner, strike 1 FB down the middle, hit fairly high to deep right, but Soto is there, 1 down.
Longest outing of Gil's career, 6 1/3 innings, ends here. Yanks will go to Ferguson.

Any updates on Jasson Dominguez? "The biggest thing right now is to not rush him until he's fully healthy and on his way back," Boone said. "I am sure he will be back at some point this year. I am excited about how the rehab's gone but I think he's a really good player in this league. Humble and very confident kid, with a smile on his face and he plays the game."

This is the kind of performance we've been looking for given Gil's stuff and credit to the Yankees for sticking with him. Granted the O's are a young and aggressive team but they can hit. If he can put a few more outings like this together, the Yanks are going to have a tough decision if/when Cole returns.

On the O's webcast, Palmer said this about the terrible 2-1 call: "Sometimes that's a strike, sometimes that's a ball". Yes, in the sense that it gets called a strike maybe 1 in 100 times, Jim. I generally liked Palmer in the booth, but he's getting more Smoltzean as he pushes 80. His strike zone doesn't seem to match up with what I am seeing on the screen. Man, he was a thing of beauty to watch on the mound. Most fluid delivery I ever saw.

Watching Grisham's inabilities to hit makes me think of Dominguez

95 pitches total for Gil.
Cowser has never faced Ferguson before. FB outside corner just above the knees, 0-1 Chases a cutter just outside at the knees, 0-2 Cowser takes his timeout. Chases another cutter about 3-4 inches below the 0-1 cutter, K's, 2 down.
