FB almost middle middle jams Trevino a bit, the fliner hangs up for Carpenter in right, Rizzo tags and starts, and is almost tagged out getting back into 2nd. Very close but the Tigers don't challenge. 1st and 2nd, 1 out for Cabrera, and the Tigers will go to lefty Tyler Holton to relieve Mize

He did that in his last appearance, too. I was surprised. 96.5 and 96.6, actually. Bottom 6, 5-3 Yanks. Rizzo, Torres and Trevino for the Yanks. One of the bigger surprises of the season. I love it. A great middle relief weapon. The problem of course is that as he gets better, he’ll be used later in the games and he’ll be lost as the middle innings advantage he is now… |

Holton having a poor start so far, 5.40 ERA in 13 1/3 innings, 19 K, 3 BB, but also 3 HR allowed.
Holton a junkballing 5 pitch lefty, probably throws sidearm or something like it.
FB, cutter, change, Slider and curve.

FB down and in, tapped softly to McKinstry, they get the force at 2nd.
Gleyber bounces into Ibanez standing up, but Ibanez wasn't making the relay anyway.
Ibanez slightly hurt.
Umps discussing calling interference, but I think he was already holding the throw. Ball hit too slowly to double up Cabrera.

Yeah, pretty much. He must've had some sort of thought there, but I have no idea what it was. Volpe fouls off a 1st pitch change on the corner away, 0-1 Cutter inside, Volpe fouls it hard off his left foot. 0-2 |

Just missed.
FB at the top, Volpe gets under it, a high fly to Perez in right center, can o'corn. Inning over.
Yanks waste two leadoff runners, more RISP failing.
Top 7, 5-3 Yanks.
Weaver will face McKinstry, Kelly or a pinch hitter, then back to the top for Greene.
