Looks like Nestor stepped up and matched Skubal inning per inning. Hamilton seems to still be in a slump coming out of the pen. It's funny; he hasn't given up a run on his record in 7 games, but he's getting into trouble almost every game and allowing inherited runners to score. |

A little flashback during the rain delay. I remember this series well. It was really cold in Chicago at the time and this was the Friday afternoon at Wrigley. I had tickets for the Sunday game which was on ESPN, but couldn't go because I had recently torn my ACL and couldn't handle all the walking going to a Cubs game requires. My wife ended up taking my son and the game ended up being one of those ridiculously long extra inning games that went deep into the Sunday night. The Yankees did win if I remember correctly. Oh, yeah, the huge HR in Wrigley. Think I was listening to that one with Sterling and Waldman. |

Make up call is right, the penalty probably should have been called on Rempe's hit in the corner, not for being pushed into the goalie.
Trouba goes off for roughing with one of the Canes, 1:46 left in their PP.

Power play goal!! Rangers 2-1 Mets still playing, in Queens. Top of 9th 5-4. Yankees and Mets do not play in NY at the same time. They are in Tampa. Are we rooting for Mets to win in further sinking Rays? |

Zibanejad has both Rangers goals, Slavin got the Carolina goal about a minute after the first Mika goal.
Canes get a good chance down low, saved by Shesterkin
Great pass to Tervainen but it goes through him, Rangers clear the zone.
Get it back in down low, pass goes through the top of the crease unaltered
Another pass finds Naces but his follow pass leads to nothing, Rangers clear.
Rangers kill off the PP and the Canes wind up icing it.

A lot of passes missing and shots getting blocked, just 4 shots for each team so far 14 minutes in.
Kakko's shot from in front gets block. That line keeping the pressure off forcing Anderson to freeze it for a faceoff.

See-saw donnybrook in DC, Nats lead the Jays 7-6 in the 5th. The teams traded 5 run rallies.
Mets held on to beat the Rays 5-4 in Tampa, salvaging the 3rd game of that series.
Red Sox have a commanding lead, 7-2, over the Twins in the 8th in Minnesota
O's got 3 runs in the first, lead the Reds 3-0 as they do for the sweep there.

Miller breaks up a feed in front. Rangers clear it down.
Lafreniere steals the puck then turns it over, leads to a rush but the shot is blocked.

Canes win the faceoff but ice the puck.
Trochek got hit with a high stick, and is bleeding but no penalty called.
Puck comes in front of the Canes net, knocked away.

Zibanejad in a tough collision forces the puck in the zone but Rangers are offside.
Panarin flips it in, pass across the ice in front of the goal knocked away, Canes force it in.
Fox taken down, maybe hit with a high stick.
Penalty on the Canes. Kuznetzov called for the high stick, on a deliberate cross-check, not an accident.
3:46 left in the first, Rangers back on the PP.

Rangers win the draw, pass it around, it gets deflected down low, pass in front to Zibanejad, who finds Trochek right in front, and he backhands it over Anderson, PP goal makes it 3-1 Rangers!!
