After getting two quick outs, this has turned into a long inning.

FB spiked down for ball 4, 9 pitch walk for Alvarez, 1st and 2nd, 2 down for Bregman. And Gil has now thrown 25 pitches this inning. Dangerous spot for the rookie.
FB on the corner inside, jams him a bit, he fouls it off.

FB well high, 1-1 FB with some cut misses outside, 2-1. Decent change has Bregman a bit early, and he tops it down, 2-2 Slider away, good spoil. Gil about to throw his 30th pitch of the inning.

Superb diving change going out of the zone down and in, Bregman chases and nearly spoils but the foul tip is caught by Trevino, fine catch there to save the K and get the rookie out of the jam. Inning over.
Bottom 3, 3-1 Yanks. 30 pitches in the 3rd, and 63 through 3.
Soto, Judge and Verdugo for the Yanks in the 3rd.
Canes got a tip=in goal from Orlov with just 6 seconds left in the 1st, and leave the ice for the break up 2-1. Very very bad. Canes outshot the Rangers 13-11 in the 1st.

Luis Gil is turning into a horse. Man, he’s got some major stuff, and maneuvers his way out of jams like Don Stanhouse of the old Earl Weaver Orioles…

Brushes Soto back with a first pitch FB at bit up and in. Slider to the inside corner waist high, 1-1 Hanging curve at the top in the middle, hit hard to right, but it has tremendous top spin, looks like it will carry to Tucker, but then dives because of the spin, bounces weird and Tucker does well to not let it get away from him for extra bases. Judge up, man on 1st, nobody out

Fb near the top at 96, Judge manages to spoil. FB at the top outside corner and again, Judge spoils. Surprised he hasn't thrown the slider low/away yet.

Judge and Soto due their job again. Can anyone drive them in? Verdugo again?

FB misses outside by 2-3 inches, ball 4. Verlander gave it an extra look, but it wasn't all that close. Ball 4, Soto to 2nd, nobody out. Verdugo up.
