Diaz takes a slider inside, then jams himself on a sinker in, his flare over 1st, Soto tries for the diving backhand grab and misses, bounces off him, becomes a leadoff double. No need to try that up by 6 in the 9th, Juan.

And luckily, Cabrera is awake takes the throw off the bag and tags Diaz coming in. Not that smart by either player. but it's man on 1st, 1 down.

Diaz must have just thought there was no way Volpe would throw to third… and now with the hit, it costs the Astros a run…

Back leg slider bounced, 2-2, great backhand stab by Wells there.
Slider in the middle at the bottom fouls one off. Good drop kept him from barreling it, plus he pulled it foul.
Same pitch, same spot, and he times it better but misses under, hits a not that hard fliner to Judge to end the game.
Yanks win 9-3, their 5th straight win, and get to 12 over .500 for the 1st time this year at 24-12.
Their 6th straight win vs. Houston this year, and 9th in a row overall.
