Yanks might wind up losing a game to the entire division, as the Jays rallied from 6 days to beat the Twins, 10-8, the Sox have rallied to a 4-2 win over the Nats in Boston, and the O's tied up their game with a run in the 8th, and have the winning run on 2nd with 1 out in the bottom of the 9th.
If they score that run, Yanks are 1 1/2 back of the O's, 5 up on the Sox, 5 1/2 up on the Rays, and 6 1/2 up on the Jays.
O's now have 1st and 2nd with 2 outs Rutschmann due up against D'backs' closer Paul Sewald.

The rubber game against the Rays is tomorrow at 1:40 pm on YES, Luis Gil vs. Tyler Alexander.

D'backs survive the 9th as Rutschman lines out hard to McCarthy in right to end the inning.
Top 10, and the ghost runner comes into play. Coulombe comes in to face Kevin Newman, Ketel Marte and Corbin Carroll, with Alexander starting the inning on 2nd.
And that's going to do it for me for today, the Rangers start in 15-20 minutes.

To me it’s great when players get hot in threes with a couple cold hitters and the other four somewhere in between. Too bad it seldom works that way. It seems hitting and not hitting are both a bit contagious… I’ll post the poll on Verdugo here in a bit… |
