Verdugo made that look routine.

And he does challenge. 94 FB above and inside middle middle, and he hits a high fly to deep left, Verdugo gets the jump and the route, and backhands it on the track without too much trouble, two down.
That's why you challenge on the 3-2, gang. Almost a HR, but almost doesn't count in that situation.

.386 now, to go with the .255 BAVG A couple weeks ago it was a long way from .210 to .300 for Judge. Now, he’s halfway there. Gotta love baseball and her streaks… Good thing about the early season is a few good games can make ugly stats good again.

Margot PH for Kiriloff. Fouls off a cutter, 0-1 Swings under a FB in the zone up and away, 0-2 One more good pitch, Caleb... Bounces a cutter over home, 1-2 Another cutter is bounced softly toward short, but Cabrera cuts it off, throws out Margot, game over. Yanks win 4-0!
Yanks win, get to 14 over for the first time this year, they're now 29-15. Win another series, too. Their 4th series win since the O's took 3 of 4 from them two weeks ago. Yanks now 9-2 since that series ended.

another very workman like win. tonite was the judge show. probably should have scored a couple more runs but a win is a win to get to 14 wins over .500 and regain a 1/2 game lead over the o's. again everyone contributed w rizzo the only one shut out. verdugo & stanton w 2 hits apiece.
on paper looked like a mismatch but the game isn't played on paper. stroman outpitched lopez w 6 scoreless. 3 shutdown innings by the pen.
judge potg. stroman honorable mention.

3rd star of the game: No one really sticks out here...normally I'd give it to Weaver for two shutout innings, but I'm tempted to give it to Stanton, just for the freak coincidence of infield hits in back-to-back games. Your call here is as good as mine, peoples. 2nd star: Clearly Stroman, who struggled with command and stuff again, and truly got bailed out by lots of favorable ball strike calls, and the marginal (to say the least) overturn of the 3-1 play at 1st in the 3rd inning. Would've been 1st and 3rd, 1 out, became man on 3rd, 2 out, and he was able to kill the threat by getting Kepler to fly out to Verdugo. 1st star: must go to Judge, for the early HR to give them the lead, three more hammered doubles, another RBI and another run. Five times on base, four extra base hits, avg exit velo 108. Helluva night for the Big Guy.
