Verdugo has be delivering the goods. Hopefully he doesn't lose his job when Dominquez returns. He seems to be enjoying his time with Yankees. Yankees will need his services when Soto heads elsewhere when FA approaches.
For sure, Red Sox fans will be giving him the business whenever they head to Fenway.

can we have THIS Stanton all season? It IS the Twins...so...no. Rizzo grounds the first pitch to Julien who starts an easy 4-6-3 DP. Man on 3rd, two down for Torres. Big bad RISP fail by Rizzo there. |

Torres fouls off a FB above and inside of middle, 1-2
Slider barely misses the outside corner, 2-2. I'd be surprised if Lopez didn't want that call when I see it...
Change low, and yes, Jeffers held the ball for a beat on the 1-2 trying to get the call, 3-2 now
Fb inside jams him, his pop fly to right is an easy play, Kepler comes in and catches, inning over.
Could've put the game away, but Lopez isn't that easy a nut to crack.
Bottom 3, 3-0 Yanks.
22 pitches for Lopez in the 3rd, 55 through 3.
Top of the order for the Twins: Julien, Larnach and Jeffers.

Julien takes a slurve for a strike, then pulls a slider on the inner half past Rizzo to his right, but it beats Soto to the wall because he was playing him the other way in right center. Leadoff double for Julien.

Slurve MAYBE got a piece of the bottom 1-1
Swings over a splitter in the zone low/away, 1-2
Larnach takes his timeout
Then gets back in and Stroman steps off.
Cat-and-mouse game here.
Splitter with more break going well outside, knee high, and Larnach chases for the K, 1 down.
Big K for Stroman there.

Takes a sinker that maybe got a piece at the bottom 0-1
Slurve way outside, and low, 1-1
Sinker just outside waist high, and Jeffers goes with it, grounded down the 1st base line, Rizzo, knocks it down, recovers, and flips to Stroman, who timed it to get there on time, but Rizzo's bobble made him come off 1st so he's safe.
Yanks will challenge that Stroman stayed on the bag.
I think he's safe.
Will be an E-3 if the call is upheld.
1st and 3rd, 1 down.

Maybe he's barely on the bag when it enters the cone of the mitt, but I still don't think this gets overturned. Nothing conclusive in the Yanks' favor.

Stroman escapes due to fancy footwork and Cashman sabotaging the review center.
