Ward is probably the best MLB player who shares my birthday. Larry Sheets is the only MLB player born on the same day as me.

Change low, 1-0 on Soto
Gets a slider right down Broadway, misses late and under, fouls it off. Missed a meatball, Juan.
Change in the middle, but Soto is early and rolls it down the first place line to Santana, he bobbles as he steps on first, has to pull his foot off the bag to recover, but does, and gets the foot back down for the 3rd out well ahead of Soto's arrival.
Inning over.
Bottom 9, Gonzalez coming in with a 5-run lead to try to close it out against Kepler, Castro and Santana.

Just checked Baseball Reference and Stan Hack, Kevin Appier were also born on my birthday, but Tony Lazzeri is the only Hall of Famer born on that day.

Castro swings on a 1st pitch FB waist high, inner 3rd, DOWN BY FIVE, and pops it foul over the Twins dugout. 0-1
Slider waist high, about 4-5 inches inside, Castro turns and pulls it foul off 3rd, 0-2
Tries to golf a slider low, and gets a solid piece, hooking a fliner toward the corner in left, but Verdugo gets the jump and the route and makes it look easy, 2 down.

Santana takes a slider thigh high just outside middle, 0-1
Change low over the middle, 0-2
FB misses just a bit up and in, but Santana spins out of there like it's at his head, not close, 2-1
Change misses inside at the knees, 3-1
FIVE RUN LEAD, Gonzalez. Must challenge
FB on the low outside corner, lifted high down the line in right, Soto comes over near the stands and makes a good backhand catch just fair to end it.
Game over, Yanks win 5-0.
Move to 15 over for the 1st time this year at 30-15, .667, best record in the AL. They sweep the series in straight sets: 5-1, 4-0, and 5-0. Three nice, polite, one-sided wins, and go 5-1 on the 6-game trip. They're now 10-2 since losing 3 of 4 to the O's two weeks ago, having won all four series.

With the Jays and O's off today, Yanks move a full game up on the O's, and 9 1/2 up on the Jays. They'll stay even with the winner of tonight's Rays-Red Sox finale, and gain a game on the other.

3rd star of the game: Torres with the hustle double to re-open the offense, setting up Wells' RBI single for the 1st tack-on run, and a fine play later in the game to take a hit away from Vazquez leading off the 8th.
2nd star of the game: Judge for belting the ball every time up and two more long doubles.
1st star of the game: Schmidt for a truly brilliant start, 8 shutout innings, just 3 hits and no walks, and 8 K's.
