The Yankees are going to offer Soto big money either way, so they might as well try their best to re-sign him now.

There’s no way they can let this kid walk in FA. Would be easily Top 5 biggest mistake in Yankees history Depends on what Cohen will do, 89. If he offers $60 million a year for 12 years, Yanks won't match it. And I don't think they should. I love Soto, but there's a cap on everyone.

Some dominating pitching the last few games. Stroman didn't have his best stuff but gutted it out.

Ron Davis's place in Yankee history remains secure. Big burly, bespectacled right-hander. Threw 131 innings of relief in 1980. That's a starter's innings now.

If only Gil could always pitch against the White Sox. He's just carving them up.

Benintendi... FB in the zone down and in, 0-1 Change outside, 1-1 Change well outside 2-1 FB about 3 inches outside, chases and fouls it off 2-2 Change starts at the corner away, dives low and outside, chases it for the K, 2 down. 13 K's for Gil. Too bad Boone almost certainly won't give him a chance to chase down Guidry's 18 K's.I was thinking the same thing.

FB inside corner fouled, 0-1 on DeJong. FB in the zone up and in, popped into the White Sox dugout, Trevino tries to straddle the steps into the dugout, lunges but can't reach it, bounces in the dugout proper, 0-2. Fb overthrown well high, 1-2 Same FB overthrown to the same spot, 2-2 Slider low/away, 3-2 Change starts outside tails to the knees outer half, and DeJong is befuddled, takes it for the ꓘ.
It's hard to explain how much he struggled in the 1st inning, and how dominant he was after that. He still has work to do with command and prove himself against the best lineups, but if his arm stays attached, the Yanks finally have the homegrown ace they've been looking for since, what...Guidry? Pettitte (not an ace, really, just a very good pitcher for a very long time).

Trevino gets a 1st pitch FB well above the zone, pops to short right, Sheets catches, 1 down.
