What a sad way to lose a game.

Sinker away, Verdugo tries to pull it, rolls over to Moore at 2nd, flips to France, game over.
See that? That's the difference between a closer and a CLOSER.
A great hitter like Soto had to battle to slap a single to left, the other batters had no real chance against him.
Yanks blow 3-0 and 4-1 leads and lose 5-4. Terrible loss, terrible way to end a good winning streak.

Balls. Can't win 'em all. Hate blowing one like that, though...largely self-inflicted. On to the next one.

I don’t feel I deserved that throw from Gleyber. What did I do?

I don’t feel I deserved that throw from Gleyber. What did I do? This gave me a chuckle after a sad, bad loss. Well said, and well done.

7 game winning streak over. had this one in the bank. holmes implosion.
while you don't expect the bullpen to blow one (they've been so good) we coulda/shoulda scored more runs. not helped by 3 DPs and 2 CS. stroman deserved better in his best yankee start. totally dominating.
drop to 17 over .500.

Rats. Holmes blows the save and the lead with some bad luck and some bad pitches. And a big touch of Gleyber… Holmes: 0.2 IP / 4H / 2BB / 4 ER

I was hoping the Yanks would cheer me up after the Knicks loss, BUT NOOOOOOOOOO Baseball is better than the other sports because there's always another game tomorrow. Unless they lose that one too, in which case, BLEGGGHHH.

That was about as bad as you can get.

Gotta score more than 4 though when you get 12 hits lot of missed chances.

The Yankees haven't had a game like this in a long time, need to move on.

The Yankees haven't had a game like this in a long time, need to move on. Like I said I remember one in Seattle last year they blew but that was more of Boone bad bullpen decisions than anything.

He was off, but without Gleyber's "clutch" error, he had enough and this would have been a Yankee W. They did pretty well against Gilbert too, lots of hard contact. 2 key DPs kept it from being a much larger lead.

And a big touch of Gleyber… Holmes: .02 IP / 4H / 2BB / 4 ER That's true, but none of the first three were harder than 80 mph. It wasn't an easy play, but if Torres makes that throw, the game ends as a 4-2 win on the deep flyout by Canzone. Fallacy of the pre-determined outcome, of course.
