Arrggg. FB down the middle below the waist, but Verdugo took it, 1-1
Cutter hangs inner 3rd, and Verdugo slams it to the right of 2nd, beating Moore's dive to his right from his shifted position, Rodriguez charges hard, they send Soto, and Rodriguez bobbles, allowing Soto to score without a play, Judge goes to 3rd on the E-8. Verdugo gets the RBI because they sent Soto right away. 3-0 Yanks!
1st and 3rd, 1 down for Stanton.

France chases a sinker just outside on the 1st pitch, grounds it back to Stroman, nice play, throws him out, 1 down.

Takes a slurve outside middle, 0-2
Then gets nailed on a bad call, a sinker at least 3 inches outside for the ꓘ, 2 down.

Slurve low to Rojas
Slurve in the zone middle down, 1-1
Fouls off a cutter inside, then a slider down the middle, 1-2
Splitter outside, 2-2
Cutter well inside, 3-2
Sinker above the knees, outside middle, somehow has Rojas a bit off balance, so his fliner to Soto isn't hit all that hard, and is an easy play, inning over.
bottom 6, 3-0 Yanks.
4th straight 1-2-3 for Stroman, he's retired 13 in a row now. 11 pitches and 75 through 6.
Rizzo Torres and Trevino for the Yanks.

Torres puts a good move on a 1st pitch slider low in the zone outside middle, drives it back to the track in right, but Canzone is there, 1 down.

Yep. Trevino takes a FB outside, ball 1 Swings over a good slider backing up down and in, 1-1 Cutter outside in pretty much the same spot as the 1st pitch slider, 2-1 Yanks the FB low/away, squirts under "Raleigh's glove back to the screen, Rizzo to 2nd on the WP, as the wiseguy in the media room plays a canned "Born to be Wild" refrain, 3-1 Fb gets a tiny piece of the top of the zone in the middle, Trevino starts for 1st but the ump pulls him back, 3-2 Slider inside, grounded hard up the middle, Rizzo stays to make sure it isn't caught on the line, doesn't go to 3rd as Moore throws out Trevino. 2 down. |
