Do you know what season that was? I had no idea he had a high-scoring effort for the Sixers later in his career...I had such a hard time understanding how it was that he couldn't just position himself under the hoop and reach up and drop the ball down through it. Almost wouldn't have to leave his feet...

Bol's son, named Bol Bol, is a big time basketball prospect and will play @ Oregon this year. Could be a one and doner.

The article was a couple of seasons old, I guess because Bol was not on his high-school's starting five at the time and was a mere runt of 6' 7"... I would have just named him "Basket" Bol...

Now JR Smith is changing his story:
JR Smith admitted Saturday that he was not aware of the score at the end of regulation in the Cleveland Cavaliers' 124-114 overtime loss in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, but he said he won't let the mistake affect his play in Game 2.
"After thinking about it a lot after the last 24 hours and however long it's been since the game was over, I can't say I was sure of anything at that point," Smith said.
That was different than Smith's story after Game 1 on Thursday, when he said he knew the score was tied at 107 when he grabbed an offensive rebound in the lane with 4.7 seconds remaining off a George Hill missed free throw and dribbled the ball out, expecting someone on his team to call timeout.
Smith was asked if he remembered telling an irate LeBron James, "I thought we were ahead," after the clock expired, as it appeared he said in a camera angle captured by the ABC broadcast of the game.
"I might have said that," Smith said. "I'm not for sure, but I might have."

That sounds like such an ARod move. Haha. Do something on the court/field that's dumb then live in a fantasy land right after... Then the next day covering up by saying "I honestly don't know what happen last night".
See the slap play or the ha play

It certainly looks like Cleveland blew their one chance to get a win at Golden State. They probably won't get another.

Going back to the photo on the first post of this thread...talking about bad beards in sports...Regardless of race or skin tone, James DOES look like a BIGFOOT in that photo. He could be as lily white as my ass and he'd still look like a bigfoot to me. It's the outstretched arms, facial expression and beard...So, now if I was a famous person, there would be a furor to fire me or boycott my business. Luckily, I'm not...Nor am I a racist...but a bigfoot is a bigfoot. If you don't want to be referred to as a bigfoot, shave that nasty beard, or trim it so it's not so nasty looking...

I have always been perplexed as to why home court advantage is such a big thing in basketball. Sure you have the crowd behind you but thats the case in every sport. But in basketball every court is the exact same. Its not like baseball where you can try to construct a team that plays to your stadium's strengths or away from its weaknesses...a regulation hardwood is a regulation hardwood. I dont know, theres probably a reason but I have never figured it out.

Referees allow the home team to get away with murder...That's all I have to say about that...They are too close to the fans and don't want to get their asses kicked...

Come to think of it, the photo that kaybli posted of Bill Walton with that nasty beard, and other photos of him have made me think of Bigfoot...The animal, not the pick up truck...Gheorge Muresan, too...Even without a beard...
