Dangit, they must've put up the Name that Yankee while I was watching the end of the NBA game. I'd have gotten Whitson. Geez.

Those fight pictured of Whitson without a shirt on… look like they could have been photoshopped from the movie “Deliverance.”…

FB outside and up, 1-0 on Stanton. Swings over a splitter dropping knee high, 1-1 Splitter low, Stanton lays off, 2-1 FB misses high, 3-1 Slider waist high outer 3rd, and Stanton lets it go by, 3-2 I said to myself, "He's got to go back to the splitter here, it's his key pitch" And he did, and it dropped below the zone, near the corner inside, and Stanton swung over it for the K. Inning over. Another good inning for Matsui, striking out 2 and getting a weak grounder.
Bottom 8, 4-0 Yanks. Top of the order for the Padres in the 8th: Arraez, Tatis and Profar.

who was worse for the Yankees, Whitson or Pavano? The yankees had to get rid of Whitson for his own mental health.

Tatis...
Cutter at the very bottom of the zone, called strike 1. 5% on Gameday Cutter near the low outside corner, fouled down, 0-2 Change dives to the low inside corner, topped foul near his feet. FB misses outside by 3-4 inches, the ballpark holds its breath while it waits for Miller to decide...1-2 Cutter left in a bad spot, thigh high near the middle, and not even the maritme air can hold that one, Judge goes back and times his leap, but just bangs off the top of the wall, he had no shot, solo HR makes it 4-1 Yanks.

Yep, I expected that this inning. Weaver doesn't have his best pitch tonight.
