Boone was sorta trapped, but Cabrera bails him out with a terrific play.
FB waist high just outside middle, Machado breaks his bat, still hits a sharp grounder toward the 56 hole, Cabrera has to dodge the flying piece of the bat coming his way, spears it to his left, spins around and fires a strike to Rizzo, inning over.
Phew!
Top 9, 4-1 Yanks.
Rizzo, Torres and Wells due in, and I wouldn't mind a run or two for the Yanks in the 9th.

Weaver gutted thru two innings. He threw one good change up to Cronenworth, other than that he had a fastball. Nothing else looked very good. |
