Rizzo the goat for this game. Nestor the quick hook. Kahnle cannot throw more than four pitches, I suppose. Would not have needed for Weaver to go more than an inning or Holmes could have started a clean inning.

2nd game tomorrow is at 9:38, unfortunately the Prime Delayed Video Lame of the Week.
Veteran lefty Tyler Anderson, having a great year so far, goes for Anaheim. He's with a 2.52 ERA so far, just 45 hits in 64 1/3 innings with a low WHIP of 1.057. But the Yanks have Luis Gil going, and he's having a pretty great season himself, so far. Gill is 5-1 with an ERA of 2.11, good for 5th in the AL. Gil is looking for his 6th start in a row of 6 innings with no more than 1 run allowed.
OK, tomorrow's preview done, so I'm checking notifications now. I was more negligent than usual tonight, trying to follow the Rangers game with what little spare time I had during the Yankees game.

tough way to lose. Sucks Rizzo cost us for the most part bringing nothing to the plate and the error. Unfortunately, Luis Rojas had an ill-timed send as well.
Gotta win series so it's a must win tomorrow.

They're trying to protect Kahnle's arm for now by not pitching him back to back games, and not making him throw more than one warmup. |

Misses a cutter at the top for a K 76 is not a GOOD pitchcount with 2 outs in the 3rd, it's a tolerable one. 77 now after the K pitch. I think it is 86 after 5 for Nestor It was 83 after 5, but Nestor threw 5 more in the 6th, with Regnifo's 2nd hit being his last pitch of the evening, the 88th. |

Change winds up 4-5 inches low on the corner inside, but Guillorme takes, 1-2 Change stays in the zone low and away, and Guillorme hammers it to the right of 2nd, but Torres shading that way for the DP, lunges to his right and gloves it, big break for the Yanks, 1 down. Good job for the Glebe… Yes, fine play by Gleyber there. |

a bit on the concerning side is that holmes, after being perfect for so long, seems to be in a mini "slump". a loss and blown save in last 4 games w 8 hits allowed in 3.1 innings.
the offense needed to do more against canning. 11 base runners but only 3 runs. there were lots of hard hit balls that stayed in the park. guess that's the way the wind blows. let's get 'em tonight.

I'm not as big on Holmes as a closer as some are, but don't think the defense has helped him any in his two blown save, plus a few bloops. We'll see I guess |
