Everyone forgets that they measured velocity differently 20 years ago… they aren’t 5 MPH faster. More like 2-3…

FB near where the FB on the 5th pitch was, this one fouled off as well.

Slider waist high, either just on or just off the corner away, Judge checks, but the home plate ump says it was a strike.
Not on the YES zone, but Gameday says....maybe on the edge.

Stanton takes a FB high, 1-0
FB outside, waist high, 2-0
FB inside corner at 100, about waist high, fouled back, 2-1
FB well high, Stanton doesn't chase, 3-1
FB not as high, above inner half, Stanton tries to check, but the 1st base ump says he went, 3-2
FB at or just above the top in the middle, Stanton fouls it straight back.
Slider low on the outer half, ball 4. It seemes like Alcala wanted that call, but it wasn't very close to the bottom.

Slider inside middle, but well low, 1-0 on Rizzo.
Slider starts in the bottom of the zone, dives low, Vazquez tries to pull it up, but no sale, 2-0
FB thigh high, inner 3rd, taken, 2-1
FB down and in, tries to tail back, but misses inside 2-3 inches, 3-1
FB just above the zone, near the corner away, ball 4. Back to back walks, the Yanks have 1st and 2nd, 2 down for Torres.

Twins have a meeting at the mound.
1st pitch to Torres is a slider well below the knees near middle, he hits it down the end of the bat, but right to Farmer on the right side of 2nd, throws him out, inning over.
Top 7, 8-5 Yanks.

It's not great that they felt Soto's injury was potentially serious enough to make Verdugo go back out there, and not give him the whole night off to rest his brusises and it's not great that they immediately pulled Dominguez from his game shortly after.
