mookie doubles in two. first time since april gil has allowed more than 1 run. had only allowed 3 runs in previous 7 starts. haven't felt he's been quite as sharp tonite as he has been. maybe we get one more inning out of him.

You have to get guys like Lux out so you don't face Betts in this situation. The real mistake was hanging the 2-1 slider to Pages. Can miss like that with 3rd pitch. |

Betts makes this lineup unique in that he can do almost anything on the field, and he doesn't strike out a lot. Smart player. Truly elite hitters fear no pitcher. Betts is one of them and he's playing. Soto is another and he isn't. The difference is palpable. |

Pulls off the slider low/way on the corner, had to start early because of the FB before. K, 2 down.

Slow curve drops into the zone at the high outside corner, ꓘ, inning over.
Having the good breaking stuff is a huge difference. Dil's change is outstanding but he needs to find a usable slider or curve.
Yanks go 1-2-2, Glasnow strikes out the side on 13 pitches, and 75 through 5 total.
Freeman, Smith and T. Hernandez for the Dodgers, 3-4-5 in the 6th. Not sure Gil says in.

Breaking balls as well but yes, not just that Glasnow has the slider and curve, but that he can spot them low, high, inside, or ourtisde corner. |
